Benito “Benny” Maseduca, 85, of Buffalo, New York, born on Jan 9, 1939 in Zara, Italy went to rest with our Lord peacefully on July 2, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. He died with his loving wife, Heidi, by his side and surrounded by his daughters, grandchildren, and extended family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years and two children; Aimee Maseduca (Garrett Schneider) and Anne Marie Maseduca. He was a loving “Grandpa” to two grandchildren, Lilja and Elin, who will miss his games of hide-and-seek.
He was a proud family man who immigrated to the United States at the age of 17, having learned English through watching movies, reading street signs, and listening to music. He played competitive soccer in Italy and continued to do so with club soccer in Buffalo (Italia Soccer Team).
Another favorite pastime was lake fishing with his boat at the Small Boat Harbor on Lake Erie in Buffalo, as well as many various fishing and hunting trips he took with friends and family throughout North America.
His hard work and desire to provide for his family led him to form his own paint contracting company, H&B Painting Corp. from which he retired in 1991. The music of Luciano Pavarotti and Mario Lanza commonly filled the home. He enjoyed Italian music, particularly Italian opera (the Three Tenors) and enjoyed cooking with fresh herbs and vegetables he grew from the home garden.
In his retirement he continued to enjoy family, travel, and fishing.
He is remembered for his love of family, instilling a strong work ethic, honesty, generosity, faith in God, and the importance of enjoying good food and wine.
Calling Hours for family and friends of Benito will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 5-7 PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport, NY 14450.
Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 10, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church at 115 Maple Ave, Victor, NY 14564.
