Renee McNeil (54) died peacefully in her home in West Henrietta, NY on October 26, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Renee was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphoma Leukemia (CLL) in 2017 and has shown incredible strength, positivity and determination throughout. Renee is an inspiration to her daughters who continue the path of helping others through nursing careers.
Renee was born on November 6, 1968 in Suffern, NY. Although she was taken too early she lived a full life marked by love, laughter and commitment to her family and job.
Renee was a loving mother first and foremost to her three wonderful daughters, Courtney, Jessica and Jenna. She also touched the life of her baby Sarah who passed shortly after birth. She will never be forgotten by her twin sister Lynn and younger sister Debra. Her parents, Gail and Len are eternally grateful to have had Renee as their beautiful daughter. Renee’s memory will forever be cherished by her devoted partner of 7 years, Paul, Renee will always have a place in the heart of Jeffery McNeil and his family. She has touched all of these lives with her warmth, wisdom, sensitivity and wit. Renee was a dear friend and colleague to many. The space she occupies in all their hearts is immeasurable.
Renee graduated from the University of Buffalo and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. Renee began her career at CP Rochester – Al Sigl Community of Agencies working with elderly and disabled adults. She met wonderful colleagues that led her toward Early Childhood Development helping young children learn how to work through their physical challenges at Great Beginnings Family Center. She then moved to the Communication Center for Hearing and Speech. After many years she moved to St. John’s in Rochester continuing her occupational therapy with the senior population. Renee moved to home care shortly afterwards where she provided at-home assistance to the elderly. Renee’s dedication to her craft was commendable and she personally connected with each and every patient.
Renee was also a dedicated mother taking pride in caring for her family. She loved volunteering in the classroom, accompanying her daughters on field trips and hosting birthday parties. She absolutely loved being a cheer mom for all of her daughters, going to all the cheerleading competitions and even spending time in the ER on multiple occasions!
Renee discovered her love of dogs later in life. She doted on her two adorable Bolognese dogs, Max and Sam who followed her around and provided her with so much love.
After Renee transitioned from her work life she had many wonderful years of adventure with her partner, Paul. Together they discovered a love of travel and adventure. Renee and Paul visited Peru and Costa Rica which provided a rich experience of fun! (www.utahcnacenters.com) Renee learned to love canoeing, electric bike riding and hiking.
Renee’s laughter, love and legacy live on, not just in memories and stories but in the very essence of those she left behind. She will be so very missed.

It was such an honor to be a friend and coworker of Renee’s during her home care years. Her compassion and sense of humor were always evident.
She was so proud of her beautiful girls and the caring professionals you have become. You honor her every day in the compassion you bring to your patients.
Paul, Renee once told me how fabulous you were in caring for her during her illness, and that she couldn’t imagine going through it without your support. I’m very glad you were there for her in fun travels and for the rougher journey.
