Dr. Igor Mihajlov

Dr. Igor Mihajlov, age 92, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025. Born in Zagreb, Croatia on September 6, 1932, Igor lived a life defined by resilience, curiosity, and devotion — to his family, his passions, and his roots.
A lifelong running enthusiast, Igor completed several marathons and numerous local races. He continued racing well into his late 80s, embodying discipline and vitality. He was also an avid traveler, often returning to his beloved homeland of Croatia, which remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Igor is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Zlata Mihajlov; his loving children Sandra Horner (Mark), Boris Mihajlov (Christine), and Tanja McKerrell (William); and his cherished grandchildren Amanda Horner (Michael Boyd), Elena Mihajlov, Leah Mihajlov (Josh Yost) William McKerrell Jr. (Olivia) and Andrea McKerrell (Adam Tuhy).
He will be remembered for his unwavering strength, quiet determination, and the deep love he held for his family and heritage. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the footsteps he left behind — both on the trails he ran and in the hearts of those who loved him.
A private family service will be held to honor his memory.

I admired Dt. Mihajlov for the excellent care he provided for the patients at the Rochester Psychiatric Center-the staff could always count on his kindness to his patients.
