Montalbano, Timothy A.

Tim lost his long battle with cancer, passing away peacefully at the age of 66 on February 10, 2023. He was predeceased by his parents Caroline and Michael. Survived by wife Linda, son Alex (Courtney), brother Michael (Sara); sister-in-law and brother-in-law Leslie and Ken Schwartz; niece and nephews Jennifer (Tony), Christopher, and Jeremy; niece Michelle; stepfather Ward Knapp; stepbrother Mark Knapp (Pam); niece and nephew Samantha (JJ) and Thomas; great-nieces and great-nephews; and beloved dogs Peanut and Teemu.

Tim grew up in Henrietta, graduated from Rush-Henrietta High School and Buffalo State College. He worked at Xerox, Genesee Hospital, Rochester Community Savings Bank, and Rochester Regional Health. He served as an EMT-Paramedic while attending Buffalo State, as well as with Perinton Ambulance and Southeast Quadrant.

Whenever you asked him how he was, his answer was always “just peachy”; and he truly enjoyed hearing “Dad, you’re an asshole.”

He mined opals in Australia; got a brown belt in karate; was an avid stamp collector, bowler, ice hockey referee, and was an enthusiastic youth sports coach, including baseball, lacrosse, and ice hockey. He loved Disney and had fun posing in silly Disney hats with his son.  He also loved photography and picking up multiple hobbies while never finishing any of them. He loved walking his dogs at the dog park with his friends and all the dogs loved him. Tim was also a loyal fan of some horrible sports teams, including the drought-era Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contributionto your favorite charity in Tim’s memory.

Calling Hours Wednesday February 15, 2023 4-7 PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday February 16, 2023 1PM at the Funeral Home

Tim was a neighbor and a good friend growing up through high school . He played goalie in some neighborhood hockey games for our team and did a great job ! We never lost with him in the net for us . I wish we would have gotten together as we had talked about it on Facebook a few times over the years . Condolences to all of Tim’s family …

Tim was in the first Paramedic class of 1991 here in Rochester. When my grandson Maximilian at age 4 had a skiing accident at Bristol Mountain, it was Tim who cared for him in PVAC’s ambulance..His skillful handling of his small patient and his calm demeanor stayed with me.
