Fairport: May 1, 2014. Laura Was born on April 2, 1979, and died of complications from an unknown
auto-immune process. Laura married Daniel Monte on June 25, 2005, and was a dedicated mother to Isabella Lucia, born April 13, 2010. Laura was survived by her husband, daughter, and beloved parents, Thomas R. and Connie M. Specht, treasured siblings, Marc T. Specht, Linda M. Austin (Kenneth J.), & Thomas R. Farrel, adoring nieces and nephews – Virginia Engwall (Erik J.), Lynsie & Colton Farrel, Gabrielle & Adam Nunez.
Laura was also survived by caring in-laws, Frank & Arlene Monte, Emily Monte, Jeremy (Allison) Monte, nieces and nephews – Anthony, Nikolas, & Catherine Monte. Laura was a graduate of Fairport High School (1997); earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Nazareth College (2001), and was awarded her Juris Doctorate from Rogers Williams School of Law (2006). Laura was a Bar accredited attorney in both New York and Arizona. Prior to her death, Laura was working as a Family Law attorney serving children and their parents in both Wayne and Ontario counties. While in Phoenix, Laura worked as a family law attorney, as well as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Arizona.
Laura was a fierce advocate for children and was active in the community. She was an active runner, studied yoga, enjoyed reading, and spending time with her friends and family.
