Sally King Monte, 86, of Fairport, NY passed away peacefully on January 9th, 2023. She was born on July 3rd, 1936 in Rochester, New York. She is predeceased by her parents Alberta and Elwood King and brother Warren King; Sally is survived by her Husband and life partner James Monte to whom she was married for 56 years; her Sister Susan (Tom) Adams; Daughter Tracy (Tim) Sanders;  Sons Mark McLaughlin and Jacques (Liz) Monte; Grandsons Ryan (Megan) Morgan, Michael (Desiree) McLaughlin, Jackson Monte and Mitchell Monte; Grand Daughters Malissa McLaughlin, Malary McLaughlin, and Emma Monte; Great Grandsons Callum  and Jameson, Great Granddaughters, Arianny and Aubrey.  Sally was a beloved wife, mother and grandma (Yaya).  

Sally was a committed provider in the home and the workplace. She was a long-time bus driver for Brighton Schools and Fairport Schools and Customer Representative for Time Warner Cable.

Sally loved family and friends.  Calls, cards and lunches always kept her connected with family and friends.  Social gatherings were important to her.  She demonstrated great care for others.  Sally loved to be active outdoors and to travel.  She had a passion for walking and camping and hiking in the Adirondacks. Collecting blueberries on top of Mt. Arab was memorable.   She was always willing to spread her wings to visit with family and friends, see her grandkids, or watch sporting events.  Yaya and Papa were always the first in the stands.

On July 3rd there will be a service at Whitehaven Cemetery and later that day a Celebration of Life.  Details to follow here at a later date.

    Sally was my chosen aunt Sally. She was the kindest and funnest person I know. We had many great memories and she will be missed more than imaginable. I will cherish our memories and veil treasure our time together always.

    My heart breaks, Sally was like my 2nd mother. I’ve known her since 1982, we shared many memories, breakfasts, dinners and even drove to Florida with her and Jim. We has a special circle of friends.
