Paul is predeceased by his parents Bill and Anna Mortimer, his brothers Bill Jr and Jim, and his sister Cathy.
He is survived by his wife Jean Hummel Mortimer, his sons Ted and Mike (Liza), six granddaughters, one grandson, one great granddaughter and one brother John (Nancy). Paul also had many nieces and nephews, children of his brothers and sister. The children of Jean’s sisters also called him “Uncle Paul”.
Paul loved to work in his yard. He tried to make the yard beautiful so that everyone could appreciate the park he had created. Each day he looked forward to seeing animals (deer, groundhogs, chipmunks, squirrels, geese, ducks, sparrows, woodpeckers) even though they enjoyed eating his plants.
Paul was a car salesman and after retirement he started a business selling decorative metal signs at shows and festivals. As with everything Paul did, he worked to create a display that others would enjoy seeing. Paul felt that a show was successful when people walked away smiling because they found the perfect sign or because they just liked looking at the booth.
Paul saw beauty in nature and hoped that others would, too. Please, take a walk and look at all that God has given us, while thinking about Paul.
At Paul’s request there will be no showing and his ashes will be laid to rest in the yard he loved.

My sincere condolences to Paul’s family. I worked with Paul about 35 years ago, at O’Connor Chevrolet. I remember Paul as being a smart guy, and a good guy, with a lot of personality. I learned from him. I’m very sorry to hear of his passing.
Jean, Ted, Mike and family, I was so sorry to read this. Paul was always so nice to me and I enjoyed our conversations a lot. Every time I see a funny metal sign, I’ll think of him with great fondness.

Paul was a cousin of mine and I have fond memories of how he was a fun loving individual that always made his presence an enjoyable experience. I remember how he loved nice cars and him coming to family gatherings usually in a Corvette. My sincere condolences to the family.

Paul was a positive influence for me. I had the pleasure to work for Paul – wholesaling cars. He taught me negotiation skills, working on multiple things simultaneously, and the flexibility to work crazy hours. Then there where the side quests. Chasing all over town to buy all the “old coke” when the new coke was introduced. The subtle difference between coke in a glass bottle (champagne) versus coke in a plastic bottle (only if there are no options). Jean, Ted, Mike and family my deepest sympathy.
As a young sales manager at Hoselton- Paul treated me with respect and kindness. He was willing to share with me things he had learned in the business and his unique perspectives in general. condolences to his family and RIP Paul.
