Sarkis “Ted” Nahabedian, Jr., 90, of Pittsford, NY, (formerly of Pawtucket, RI) died peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
Born in Pawtucket, RI, on June 24, 1932, he was a son of the late Sarkis and Marinos Nahabedian. He was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth (Betty) Artinian Nahabedian and brother of the late Ardashes “Dash” Nahabedian.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Paula Essler and her husband, Karl; sister-in-law, Julie (Artinian) Cox and her husband, John Cox, of New York, sister-in-law, Patricia Artinian of VA. Also, a loving Aunt Irene Engutsian Cloutier, and best friend Vartges “Gus” Engustian, of Rhode Island.
He is survived by many nieces, Joyce Nahabedian McQuire, Elizabeth Cox Bendschneider, Johanna Cox Pennington, Lenora Cox Leggatt; nephews, Alan and Stephen Nahabedian.
Uncle “ T” had many friends and family here in NY and also RI; especially neighbors, Ellie Johnson and her son, James.
Ted graduated from Brown University and earned his MBA from New York University.
He served his country in the United States Army.
He was the manager of Human Services for Fisons Corporation for many years.
In his younger years he earned a Black Belt in Karate. His many interests ranged from being an avid watcher of the NY Giants, Rochester Red Wings baseball, hockey and the Boston Celtics.
For many years he enjoyed music and learned to play the piano after retirement. One of his fondest memories was taking his daughter to see Luciano Pavarotti singing with the Boston Symphony.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Pluta Cancer Center and the loving staff of the Caring Hearts of Rochester. The family would also like to thank the Hospice Care Staff at Highland Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
Calling Hours will be held at Richard Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford-Palmyra Road, Fairport, NY, on Sunday, February 5, 2023, from 1 pm to 3 pm.
A graveside service will be held Monday, February 6, 2023, 10:00 am at White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford, NY. Please meet at the front gate at 9:45 am.
