January 9, 2026 at the age of 95.
With hearts full of love, we share the passing of our beloved mother, Janette.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, nurse…
She moved through this world with a quiet grace, offering warmth, wisdom, and an unwavering love that shaped our lives. She was a beautiful and gentle soul and touched the lives of all who were fortunate to have met her. Her intense love and support for her family was never questioned and was a force to be reconned with if anyone interfered with that. Her presence was a place of warmth & comfort, her words a source of strength, and her unconditional love a gift beyond measure.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on-in the stories we tell, the lessons she taught, and the love she leaves behind. She will forever be part of who we are. We are comforted knowing she is with our beloved Dad, swinging on the dance floor and smiling.
Rest gently, dear Mother.
You are deeply loved, and you will always be remembered.
Janette is survived by her children, Nicholas (Carolyn) Nickson, Andrea (Steve) Relyea, and Jennifer Nickson; grandchildren, Nicholas (Alexandra) Nickson and Timothy Nickson (Heather); great grandchildren, Nicholas Casey and Avery Faith; sister-in-law Irene; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date

I wept reading this. Even I embrace mom’s advice vicariously when I’m not feeling quite like dealing in the morning. I recall her saying (via Jennifer) you’ve gotta put on some makeup in the morning and get ready whether you’re leaving the house or not. An inspiration that reaches far and wide and will continue forever. Love to all who are grieving right now. You have many arms wrapped around you when you stumble. You will not fall.

She raised wonderful children, who are carrying on their parents’ legacy.

Jan and Nick were our neighbors on Beverly Drive for twenty-four years. We could not have asked for better people to live across the street.Jan was the neighbor who:
brought over brownies to welcome us to the neighborhood,
helped me prepare Greek delicacies to serve at our son’s graduation parties, and always come to our aid, if needed. Carl and I treasure the memories of a beautiful person.
