Noble, Norma G. “Missy” (Freeling) September 21, 2022
Norma (Missy) Noble passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday Morning, September 21st in her home, at the age of 79 years old. Born August 4, 1943 to Eugene M. Freeling and Mary A. Neff. She grew up in Rochester, and Holcomb, NY. She had been living with her family in rural Tennessee in the last couple years after relocating from Bradenton, Florida where she had made her home for 18 years. She was a 1961 Graduate of East Bloomfield High School, Holcomb, NY. She would like to be remembered most for her many fun filled years as a Marion Central School Bus Driver. She drove the bus for “Special Needs” children to area schools from the Marion District. Norma, (Missy as she preferred to be called) enjoyed the outdoors, spending much time in recreation, and gardening. During the years preceding her illnesses, she enjoyed kayaking with her life partner Thomas Nelson, often spending hours paddling in and out of mangroves, and exploring the Florida Waterways. Tom predeceased her in life in 2012, but she continued to share his memory as her “soul-mate”.
During her years in Florida, Missy worked for Initial Tropical Plants, Inc. as a Senior Plant Technician and retired in 2012 to work part-time for Walmart as a cashier. She loved to share her stories about the customers who came through her line, and recognized her “regulars” with her bright smile. After suffering a severe neck injury from a fall in her home in 2018, she managed to recover and return to work for a short time. Eventually, she retired from Walmart as well in 2020. After suffering another fall in 2020 and severely fracturing her arm, she relocated to Tennessee. In May of 2022, she was diagnosed with Stage Four Cancer of the Lungs, Liver and Pancreas. She did not suffer long as the disease was swift and merciful.
Missy was predeceased in life by her former husbands, Alexander L. D’Accursio (2001) and Wayne E. Noble (2016), her son, Dennis E. Kailburn (1996) and her sisters, Mary Jane Freeling and Jeanette Monahan. She is survived by her son, Karl A. D’Accursio (Kristina) and grandchildren Shelby, Cianna, Dainyn, and Karissa whom she lived with in her final years in Milton, TN. She is survived by her Daughter Debra A. Holmes (John) of Albuquerque, NM and grandsons Andrew in Doha Qatar, and Gregory Holmes of Idaho. She is also survived by her Sister Dolores Ketchum of Rochester, NY. She will be interned at the Marion Cemetery, Marion, NY. Her wish was to be buried with her son Dennis, where she will be laid to final rest with him overlooking the School Bus Garage where she enjoyed so many years of her life.
Norma lived a fulfilling life. She had an undying devotion to Native American Culture. She loved everything American Indian. She had a physical and spiritual connection to nature and the culture of these peoples. Not only a collector of artifacts, and embellishments, she studied New York Iroquois History, and became an Historian in many rights. Her wish was to truly be a Native American. Her love for this was so strong, the words “Eya’gohe:k O:ade’ O:Negago:oh”, Native Iroquois for “She Lives On in the Wind and On the Water” will be placed on her marker.
Calling Hours will be Friday 10/14 5:00-7:00 PM with Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Oct 15, at 10:00AM at Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford-Palmyra Road, Fairport, NY 14450 Christian Burial to follow at Marion Cemetery, Marion NY.

I will miss you Aunt Norma. You were such an integral part of my upbringing, that life without you in it would have been very different. I have so many fond memories of you, and with you I will always cherish. My father and I are truly blessed that you visited with us for his 80th birthday. I was SO happy to see you. You are one of the strongest women I have ever known, and will know. I will forever be a better person for having you in my life and teaching me how to be a strong woman. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being you. You are one of a kind and I’m proud to have known you.
Peace and love,
Lisa
