Fairport: Formerly of Greece. April 14, 2015. Died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Survived by devoted wife of 48 years, Gail; cherished children, Laurel and Sean; adored grandchildren, Mason and Spencer Mikulski; 7 loving and supportive brothers and sisters, Lawrence (Barbara) Norton, Kathleen Mueller, John (Janice) Norton, Joanne (Joseph) Berlin, Mary (James) Schwartz, Paul (Sue) Norton and James (Kelly) Norton; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Prudi Keiffer: long-time friend, Joseph Platania; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Robert was a graduate of Aquinas Institute and the University of Rochester. Alter attending OCS, Robert was a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. Following his military service, he became a Probation Officer for Monroe County. He later worked as the Chief Clerk of Monroe County Family Court until his retirement in 2000. Robert was guided by a deep love for his family and his faith. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, especially on Hilton
Head Island, and watching and playing sports with his beloved grandsons. Everyone’s favorite gentleman, Robert will be remembered for his selfless acts, kind words, Irish wit and smile that would light up a room.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Lipson Cancer Center and Lifetime Care Hospice for all of their loving care of Robert. A special note of thanks to Dr. Ronald Sham for his compassion while accompanying Robert on this journey.
Calling hours Friday 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, Egypt Location, 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd., Fairport. Funeral Mass Saturday 1:30 at Church of the Assumption Fairport.
