Ann (Daly) O’Hora passed away on April 6, 2026 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Waverly, NY with her sister Ellen and brother Joe. After earning a degree in economics from Alfred University, she moved to Rochester, NY to start her career with Lincoln First Bank. She met her husband, Robert “Bob” O’Hora, through mutual acquaintances in the banking world. In the mid-90s, Ann worked in the guidance department of Fairport High School as a scholarship coordinator. She is survived by her daughter, Sue O’Hora, with whom she shared many memorable travels.

Ann will be remembered fondly by the many friends she made between Fairport; Chocowinity, North Carolina (where she lived briefly); the Penfield YMCA and Incarnation Episcopal Church. She was always eager to share her fantastic cooking and baking and her love and knowledge of gardening. She had a keen mind for trivia fed by a lifetime of voracious reading. Above all, she was admired for being a great friend and her willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 10am at Incarnation Episcopal Church, 1957 Five Mile Line Rd, Penfield, NY 14526. The burial will take place at a later time in Hamilton, NY.

  3. Sue, my condolences. I have good memories of talking with your mother when I would bring my daughter, Margie, over to your home for play dates. She was an interesting person and very devoted to you and your father.

  4. Aunt Ann was a force of nature, and I am grateful that she was part of my life. She was clever and wise, witty and fun. And she could talk the hind leg off a donkey! She liked to help others, and once she sunk her teeth into a project, she didn’t let go until it was completed to her satisfaction. And she had high standards! She softened her expectations for excellence with a plate of her delicious homemade cookies.

One of my favorite memories of Ann was her taking my kids and I strawberry picking. She delighted in this simple, homey activity and enjoyed watching the kids eat as many strawberries as went into their pint containers. And, of course, she told us the story of taking her beloved daughter, Sue, berry picking when she was little and how she thought the farmer should have a scale to weigh children before and after they picked berries and should have parents pay for the increase in weight.
