Carol Armstrong Osadnick, a resident of Fairport, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, after a courageous journey with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Horseheads, New York, on October 10, 1954.
She graduated from Alfred University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and worked for a number of years as a visiting nurse, caring for others with compassion and dedication.
Carol married John Osadnick in 1980, and together they built a loving family. She is survived by her husband, John, and their three children: Erin (Dustin Arnold), Peter (Sarah), and Mark (Christin). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Grace and Jane Arnold.
After several years in nursing, Carol retired to become a full-time mother, a role she embraced with tremendous love and commitment. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor. She loved dogs, gardening, sewing, antiquing, cooking, and so much more. Above all, she loved people. Her life reflected the words of 1 Corinthians 16:14: “Let all that you do be done with love.”
The last eleven years brought increasing challenges as Carol and her family faced the difficult journey of early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Throughout that time, the exceptional staff at St. Ann’s Community helped ease her burden and provided compassionate care. The Osadnick family will be forever grateful for their kindness and dedication. They truly are doing God’s work.
The family extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who visited Carol, prayed for her, and offered friendship and support throughout her journey.
Carol loved flowers, and they will be gratefully accepted. In lieu of flowers, the family would also appreciate donations in Carol’s memory to St. Ann’s Foundation, Osadnick Endowment, 1500 Portland Avenue, Rochester, NY 14621. Gifts may also be made online through the Rochester Regional Health Foundations website or through St. Ann’s Community’s Area of Greatest Need fund. Please note “Osadnick Endowment” when making your donation.

Best girl cousin one could ask for. Her laughter, smile, and time shared in our childhood will last forever. I look forward too sitting in the grass in the heavenly places and singing joyful tunes with her. Always in my heart, Rebecca Grose Sims.
John, you have set a tremendous example to many with your devoted care and support for Carol through what had to be extremely difficult times.
My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
Since Carol moved into our neighborhood 38? Years ago, she began making wonderful connections with us moms. So many wonderful cups of coffee shared… so many teary afternoons sharing worries or problems and our friday afternoon wine and cheese gatherings. We were all so young and blessed to know each other. Carol was always the one to be there to help with the new babies, and encourage any of us along the way. Her family was EVERYTHING to her! Love to you all.
As Judy said, Carol was a connecting force when I was fortunate to live in the neighborhood with Carol and her family. She was always there with a ready smile, needed advice to us moms but best of all her friendship.
My heartfelt condolences to the Osadnick family.
