Andrew “Andy” Patrick Osborn, 59, passed away on July 12, 2026 after a brief illness. He was born in Buffalo, NY, on December 29, 1966, the youngest of five children. After the family moved to Fairport, NY in 1968, Andy attended the Day Care Training Center, now known as the Mary Cariola Center, and later attended Monroe One BOCES, graduating in 1987. He went on to hold various jobs, including working at Unistel Industries, part of the CDS Life Transitions company, where he packaged spices before retiring in 2019.
In 1999, Andy moved into a Heritage Christian Services group home where he found not only a home, but a community. His family will always be deeply grateful to the staff members who cared for, supported, and loved Andy over the years. Their kindness, patience, and dedication enriched his life in countless ways.
Andy lived a full life – one he approached with enthusiasm and an unforgettable sense of humor. Known for his quick wit and sarcasm, he enjoyed mercilessly teasing his siblings and joking around with staff and friends at his group home. Andy loved all things Wizard of Oz, cheering on the Buffalo Bills, watching wrestling with his housemates, and making trips to Dunkin’ Donuts for iced coffee. He also always looked forward to a good celebration, especially Christmas and his birthday. Andy was also proud to be an Eagle Scout, and he enjoyed participating in Special Olympics and Challenger Athletics.
Above all else, Andy loved and was beloved by his family. He had a special relationship with his parents, had inside jokes and memorable adventures with each of his siblings, and relished spending time with his nieces and nephews. Andy was especially proud of being godfather to his youngest niece, Kayla. It was one of his greatest joys and a role he cherished deeply.
Andy was predeceased by his father, Herbert Osborn, and his niece and goddaughter, Kayla Tandy. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Osborn; brothers Mike Osborn (Jan) and Dan Osborn (Ellen); sisters Sissy Murphy and Claire Marie Tandy (Patrick); nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Osborn, Megan Osborn (Mike Price), Matthew Murphy (Elyse Saviet), Caitlin Murphy, Makenna Osborn, Gannon Osborn, Sean Tandy (Shannon Daly), and Ryan Tandy; and grandnephew, Colin Murphy.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, August 9 from 12 to 2 pm at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, located at 7501 Pittsford-Palmyra Road in Fairport. A funeral mass will be held Monday, August 10 at 11AM at St. John of Rochester, located at 8 Wickford Way in Fairport. A burial and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Christian Services Foundation.

Andy meant so much more to me than just being someone I worked with. After so many years, he became a true friend and someone I will always carry in my heart. Being there with him in his final moments while we watched The Wizard of Oz together is something I will never forget. 💔🌈
I’m grateful for every memory, every laugh, and every moment we shared over the years. Andy was truly special to me, and losing him has been incredibly hard. I will miss him more than words can explain, but I know the memories we made will stay with me forever. Rest peacefully, Andy. You were loved, you mattered, and you will never be forgotten. ❤️🕊️
I taught at BOCES1 from 1967 to 1978. Andy was never one of my students but he was a frequent visitor. I had a “Wizard of Oz” poster hanging on a wall! On the last day of school in 1978 I gave the poster to Andy. It was my last day at the Foreman Center as I was beginning a Maternity Leave. I am glad he had such a wonderful life!
I’ll always remember early mornings with Andy making GF toast in the morning together at stone road, the way he made me work for a big grin, and his neice stories! He loved his family so fully. And he was so fully loved.
