Frances D. Osterling passed away on May 30th, 2022. Fran grew up in Batavia, New York and lived in Fairport for over 50 years. Fran was a graduate of D’Youville University and SUNY Brockport, where she earned a Master’s degree in Education. She was a kindergarten teacher in the Holley and Brighton Central School Districts.
She was predeceased by her parents, Stephen and Margaret Dispenza, and her in-laws Abraham and Mary Osterling.
Fran is survived by Peter, her husband of 54 years, her son Scott (Erika) and daughter Lynne (Cliff), one grandson, and two granddaughters. She is also survived by her brother Steve (Kathy), sister-in-law Lorna Clark, brother-in-law Doug Osterling (Makameh), one niece and four nephews.
Per Fran’s request, there will be no visitation, but a Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, 10:00 AM at St. John of Rochester Catholic Church, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport, NY 14450. The Mass will also be livestreamed: Streaming | stjohnrochester (stjohnfairport.org)
She was a wonderful wife and mother, loved nature and flowers, and was a great cook. We love her and will miss her always.
In lieu of flowers, Fran requested that donations be made to The National Shrine of St. Jude, 205 W. Monroe St., Chicago, IL 60606. Gifts of Remembrance – National Shrine of St. Jude (shrineofstjude.org).

Pete- I was just so shocked to read of Fran’s passing. I had no idea she was that sick. I’ll be there Saturday morning. She was my best friend! I am so sorry for your loss.

I was so sorry to learn of Fran’s passing. We taught together my 1st year in Brighton, we were both graduates of D’Youville, and we both had a special bond with Carole MacMonagle. My sincere sympathy to you, Pete, and your family.
Fran and I taught at Brookside School in Brighton. She was a wonderful teacher! As my friend,
she was kind, caring, sensitive, and sincere. She will be missed by many people!
