Dwight W. (Butch) Parks passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife, Donna, the love of his life, on Saturday August 15, 2020 at Highland Hospital after a long and courageous battle with M.S.
He was the son of the late Winifred Parks of Worcester, MA and the late Dwight W. Parks Sr.
Butch was born in Worcester, MA and lived there for most of his life. He grew up in the Tatnuck Square area and loved talking about his youth there and the many friends that he kept in touch with.
Butch graduated from Commerce High School and Worcester Industrial Tech. After graduating he had enlisted in the Navy where he proudly served on The U.S.S. Saratoga aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean. He loved his Navy experience and recently was reading books about the Six-Day War in June of 1967 that took place when he was on that carrier.
He and his wife, Donna, met in high school and fell in love at first sight. They dated for 2 years and met again forty years later and walked in to each other’s arms like they had never been apart. They were together 20 years and it was magical for them and all that knew them.
Butch loved playing golf until he could no longer play but always enjoyed watching it on the television. He also loved watching football when his New England Patriots played. He loved his outings with his friend Franny. They would go to Foxwoods Casino where Butch loved to play Black Jack and have lunch together.
If you were lucky enough to know Butch you know that he was one of a kind. He lived life with joy and laughter and positivity. If you were his friend you knew you were loved.
He is survived by his wife and soul mate, Donna (Schroeder) Parks.
He is also survived by his beloved daughter Cindy Frappier of Barre, MA; his daughter “by heart” Susan Nickason and her husband Donny Nickason of Penfield, NY; his son “by heart” Robert Olson and his fiancée Karen Lambert of Fairport NY; his grandchildren Matthew and Megan Frappier of Barre, MA; his grandchildren Timothy Freitas, Ryan Freitas and his significant other, Katie Bishop and Caleb Freitas and his wife Katie Snyder of Rochester, NY; his special soul sister Linda Easterling of Fitchburg, MA; his beloved sister Estelle St Amand and several beloved nephews and nieces.
He also leaves his friend Franny Waszkiewicz of Worcester, MA who he considered a brother and the best friend anyone could have.
He is predeceased by his sister Marilyn Gray and her husband Bob, sister Shirley Richards and her husband Bob and his brother in law Carl St. Amand, his nephew Mark St. Amand and his grandson Michael Freitas.
He was also predeceased by a brother in law Eugene Easterling.”
There will be a small service of celebration in the All Faith’s Chapel at White Haven Cemetery on Friday September 4th at 2:00 P.M.

Thank you Lydia. We both so appreciate your friendship.
Susan and Donny, we are very sorry for your loss. Butch sounded like the perfect husband, father (by heart) and friend and you were blessed to have him in your life. The tribute to him is beautiful. Keep your favorite memories close to heart and he will be with you always.
My condolences to Donna and the extended family members of Butch on his passing. I am one of those Tatnuck Square guys from Worcester , MA where Butch lived for many many years. Butch was always kind, thoughtful and willing to help in so many ways. I have so many happy memories of those times that will stay with me forever. The last time i saw Butch was about 10 or so years ago and we had breakfast at Lou Rocks diner. As usual he was upbeat and in great spirits. May his soul rest in peace.
