Goodbye Fairport Mike, I only knew you for eight short months. But, in that time I learned a lot about you, and you about me. It was usually fun, but sometimes frustrating to meet up with you and visit in either Perinton Park or the small park by Turk Hill road.
You impressed me with your friendliness, hopefulness and faithfulness. I’ll always look be looking for you whenever I look under the pavilion at Perinton Park. It’s sad that I’ll never hear you hear you say hello Long Island Tony. But, God Bless your memory and your soul. Peace my friend. LI Tony
Mike was a dear at heart, always spoke with enthusiasm and pride. He loved Fairport and all the doings. He’d come to visit and offer to help out in any way possible. A good man gone too soon, rest in peace, Mike!
Mike’s funeral Mass will be at Church of the Assumption in Fairport on Nov 18 at 11:15AM
I got to know Mike while working at the Fairport Post Office. He was always up for a spirited conversation about the local sports teams. I quickly learned what a loving and caring person Mike was. He would always ask me about my family and we would exchange Christmas cards. Running into him around town always put a smile on my face and I couldn’t help but to embrace him and have a chat. He was the kind of person that just simply made you feel good. I feel lucky to have known Mike, if only for a short time, and he will be deeply missed.
It was sad to hear the news of Mike’s passing, we were classmates and played soccer together. I’m glad to hear about the friends he had and his impact on them. Everyone matters … RIP Mike.
Only knew Mike to say hello but he would always smile with a friendly demeanor. He was a constant in Fairport and that will be missed. RIP.
