It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Paul Paulson on October 22, 2025. Born July 20, 1944, Paul graced this world with his patient, kind, and practical demeanor for 81 wonderful years.

The loving son of the late Helena Beatta Henson and Paul Olaf Paulson, Paul grew a legacy of his own – a legacy of kindness towards others and a love for animals. He held a particularly special place in his heart for rescue dogs. He honored his parents by sprinkling Swedish phrases into everyday conversations and telling tales of his mother’s luncheonette and his father’s travels as a merchant marine.

Paul was a proud graduate of Syracuse University, having obtained a degree in Computer Science in 1967. He drew on his education immediately, taking on notable roles at Deloitte in Montreal and later at Xerox Holdings Corporation in Rochester, where he remained a valued and dedicated member of the company for the rest of his career. He enjoyed business trips that took him around the world – visiting Japan, Brazil, and the United Kingdom, and always returned with a briefcase full of souvenirs.

He was a man of many interests and hobbies. An ardent fan of Syracuse Orange athletics, he spent many hours watching college basketball, particularly the NCAA March Madness tournament. A music enthusiast, he loved the Doo-wop groups of the 50s and 60s and held a deep fondness for The Everly Brothers, Dion and the Belmonts, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and Jimmy Buffett. Paul was an avid reader and an active, health-conscious person, but he also enjoyed his down time where you could find him in a lounge chair, sipping one of his favorite drinks, red sangria, and taking in the daily news after a long day of biking, skiing, or lifting weights at the gym.

But his family was his real pride and joy. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Tanya (Joe) Cullen and Kristin Paulson along with their mother Patricia Paulson; his beloved sons, Adam Paulson and Ben Paulson along with their mother Vicki Paulson; his cherished daughter-in-law, Jamie Paulson; his adored grandchildren, Megan (Tim) Reddick, Ryan (Abe) Cullen, Emily (Adam) Ford, Charlie Paulson, and Trent Paulson and his three beautiful great-grandchildren.

Paul’s wisdom, warmth, and sense of humor will be missed. He emphasized the importance of education to his children and grandchildren and taught his loved ones how to handle finances. His tenderness, logic, and love for animals will live on through them, keeping his spirit alive.

Paul’s life was one of love, kindness, and invaluable lessons. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and we are so grateful for the time he shared with us.

Memorial Gifts

In lieu of flowers, consider a gift to Lollypop Farm (a.k.a. Humane Society of Rochester and Monroe County PCA) in Fairport, NY.  Paul found his two best dog friends, Tasha and Beta, at Lollypop Farm, and he loved them dearly.

Service Details

Paul requested a small service with immediate family only, but we appreciate everyone’s love and support.

  1. I enjoyed Paul’s company over the years and the many times we got together with other friends from our Xerox family. A small group met weekly at Starbucks to discuss (sometimes debate) the ‘latest’ thoughts about investments. It was almost like we actually had real money!! I’ll miss you my friend and thanks for the memories!

  2. I knew Paul through his family as well as working close by to him at Xerox. We had many interesting conversations as he would always bring up his slant on many subjects. He was a good guy and was taken too soon.
