With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Vicki W. Paulson of Fairport, New York, on February 27, 2026. She was born on June 12, 1950 and spent her 75 years spreading joy, laughter, and comfort to everyone she met.
Vicki was born in Elmira, New York, the daughter of Robert (Buddy) Kelley Wilson and Wilma (Billie) Devine Wilson. When she and her older sister, Bonnie, were young girls, their family moved around New York, living in Pine City, Ogdensburg, and Niagara Falls before settling in Victor where Vicki enjoyed cheerleading and starred as Martha in her high school senior play “Arsenic and Old Lace”. She spent many school breaks in Elmira with her loving aunt Claudia and her cherished grandmother “Ma” who had a combination of strength and tenderness that Vicki admired.
She studied Human Resource Management and Psychology at Alfred State College and went to night school at the Rochester Institute of Technology while beginning her long career at Xerox Corporation. She enjoyed 44 years with the company, practicing her passion of helping people, before retiring in 2014.
Vicki spent her retirement doing the things she loved most: dancing to live music, caring for her beloved grandchildren and attending their games and events, adoring her miniature dachshunds, and tending to the many flowerbeds that decorated her beautiful property. She was also known for her considerable generosity, spending many days delivering goods to families in need, hearing their stories, and sharing moments of laughter with them. She loved to laugh and enjoy each moment in life, often poking fun at herself for her silliness or short stature.
Vicki was extremely proud of her family. She frequently honored the resolve and toughness of her father, uncle, and grandfather, who were all military veterans. She and her then husband Paul raised two boys, giving them warm and affectionate childhoods, teaching them the value of hard work and the virtue of enjoying the small things in life. She is survived by her two sons Adam Paulson and Ben (Jamie) Paulson, her grandchildren Charlie Paulson and Trent Paulson, her sister Bonnie (Mike) Abraham, her nephew John Conover, her niece Kim Conover and great-nephew Josh Conover, her nephew Michael (Heather) Abraham, great-nephew Dominick Abraham, great-niece Adriana Abraham, and her former husband and close friend, Ron Macera.
She touched many lives, was dearly loved, and will be deeply missed.

I will remember Vicki for her Halloween costumes that she often wore at Xerox around Halloween. She was friends to many and would assist in any way she could. I am saddened that her vibrant life ended in tragedy. My deepest sympathies to her entire family. Praying that she is at peace and a guardian angel for her children and grandchildren.

I will always remember Vicki for her wit, kindness and her free spirit. I was very fortunate to call her “friend”. Back in 2016, we attended a Bruce Springsteen concert in Rochester. We had so much fun!

So sorry to hear this. I did not know Vicki well, but I too enjoy going out to live music to dance, and I would always see her out. She was so friendly and full of life. My condolences to her family.
Some of my very best times in my senior life were spent with the spirited, eternally smiling Vicki. We attended many concerts together including Paul McCartney, Keith Urban, and Tom Petty to name a few favorites. We had great times at local artists gigs including almost every band with a gig within 100 miles of Rochester on land and sea. We tried to cause some “good trouble wherever we went and usually did! Our interests were as diverse as pups and motorcycles. I miss you my sista from another mother. Save me a seat at the next gig.

Vicki worked for me at Xerox as her last gig at the company. I always loved her positive attitude and energy. The last time I saw her I ran into her on the beach at Marges lakeside inn, dancing in the sand to the live band playing on a beautiful summer’s day. She lived her life to the fullest and I’ll remember her always. I made a point of drinking out of my Paul McCartney coffee mug the day after I learned of her passing as we both shared a love for him. I’m truly sorry to her whole family for such a tragic loss. 💜
I met Vicki a few months ago. She was buying trinkets that I was selling on facebook marketplace. We would chat in my driveway for good 30 minutes each time she came for a pickup. She was such a nice lady. I’m saddened of this tragedy. My sincere condolences to her family.

Every time St Patrick’s Day comes I will think of you fondly.🍀 So many of our annual celebrations were spent dolled up in our finest Irish lass garb, dancing to the Galtee Mountain Boys or some similar band. I’m certain you’re dancing a jig in Heaven this year. Rest in peace my friend.
My heartfelt condolences to you and your families. Vicki and I went to Victor high school together and had wonderful times, including the senior play. We reconnected through high school reunions and our ladies VHS fellowship group. We shared the same love for gardening and for our dogs. A vivacious, kind woman. I will greatly miss her.
Vicki and I participated in a talent show, singing Puff the Magic Dragon with Lynn Canning Burek. The girl could sing! 🎶 then we were two sister aunts in Arsenic and old Lace, in our senior play. Those are two of my most fond memories of Vicki. This woman was a joy to all who met her. A fellow boomer, and attendee at our class of 68 reunions, her presence always cheerful and sincere. I worked for Xerox for 30 years. My work in Industrial Relations and HR almost immediately associated me with Vicki. She was one of my favorite coworkers. While seldom working closely together she was always there as one of my most reliable resources and yes, friend. She could light up a day and I always admired her humor and energy level. We continued our contact through Facebook right up to her last week. When my son told me of her passing I felt the loss. She deserved much better and I know she’s in heaven.
