Penfield: Tuesday, May 12, 2015, age 83.Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rosemary (Iuppa); daughters Luciana Randall, Stephanie Barbero (Mark) and Victoria Hansen; Proud grandfather of William, Thomas, Ryan, Nina, Lila, Autumn, Spencer, Nicholas, and Kristian.
Tom was born in Elmira NY, and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War in the 1005th Special Investigations Unit, for which he earned the Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Tom earned an engineering degree from Penn State, and put his talents to work at Harris/R.F. Communications. He designed and installed satellite systems in over 20 countries.
Highlights of his career include; building and installing transmitters for the Arecibo ionospheric Observatory in Puerto Rico, NASA, NOAA/NESS and others. His most gratifying work was building the command transmitter for the satellite that sent the first weather pictures from space.
Tom was a 30 year member of the Pultneyville Yacht Club who also enjoyed fishing, golf, bridge, spending time exploring with his grandkids and traveling the world with Rosemary.

Tom’s life will be honored with a memorial service Saturday, May 16th at 10:00 AM at All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park. 210 Marsh Road Pittsford. Memorial donations may be made to benefit the Residents at: Moore Place at DeMay Living Center, 100 Sunset Drive, Newark, NY 14513
