Nancy Pelletier, 94, has passed away peacefully on April 30, at St. Ann’s Community, Webster, N.Y. following a long illness. Nancy was born in Syracuse, NY, to Julia and James Kennedy in 1930. She graduated from St. Vincent de Paul School in 1948 and went to work as a secretary at Continental Can Company. In 1955, she married James J. Pelletier and, after a brief stint in Sauquoit, NY, they moved to Penfield, in 1961. There they raised seven children.
Nancy has been active in bridge clubs, bowling teams, a women’s golf league and fitness classes. She worked for many years in the medical records department at Genessee Hospital. She also enjoyed playing the piano and gardening. Nancy’s faith was deep and abiding. A devoted parishioner at St. Joseph Church in Penfield from 1961 until her death, she sent all seven of her children to St. Joseph School, was a volunteer worker at the rectory, and was a regular member of “the eight o’clockers,” who attended eight a.m. Mass there every morning.
Nancy is predeceased by her husband, James and her sister, Mary Jane Hamilton. She is survived by her seven children: Anne Pelletier (Matthew Caggiano) of Quogue, NY and Naples, FL; James “Mike” Pelletier (Margaret), of Marion, NY; Jennifer Kinkele (John) of Petaluma, California; Peter Pelletier (Amy) of Brighton, NY; Jacquelin Repp (Richard), of West Bloomfield, NY; Philip Pelletier (Anita), of Webster, NY and Christopher Pelletier (Kim) of Webster, NY. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A devoted mother, grandmother and friend, Nancy will be missed by all.
Funeral Mass Thursday May 8, 2025 10:30AM at St. Joseph’s Church 43 Gebhardt Road, Penfield.

Aunt Nancy was one of the kindest, loving, and faithful people I’ve known. I loved when she would visit Syracuse. Her laughter was as sweet as a song birds trill! She will be missed! Her love for her family was fiercely strong and admirable. God bless all of you!
Anne, thank you. Mom loved you and your parents and siblings so much. Funny you mentioned a songbird. Mom loved birds and always had bird feeders in her yard. She especially loved cardinals.
Nancy was a faithful member of the community at Cherry Ridge, participating in Mass whenever she was able and receiving communion faithfully. I will miss seeing her in the front row and on the floor.
Thank you, Sr. Karen. Mom enjoyed St. Ann’s community and the beautiful grounds.
For the past year as a St. Ann’s volunteer I had the pleasure of seeing Nancy’s smile and gentile demeanor while doing crafts & wheeling her to events . With sympathy, Cindy Martin
Besides all of the accolades about Nancy’s sweet demeanor, I must add to the list of memorable traits her uncomplaining nature. Not once in the decade or more that we “played at” bridge with Sue and Karen, enjoying laughter and hugs, did I ever hear Nancy bemoan the health challenges that seemed so overwhelming.
Her children were the greatest source of pride to Nancy, for they returned her years of love and devotion with gratitude for her sacrifices.
Rest in peace, dear Nancy.
I worked with Nancy for several years at Genesee Hospital. She was so kind and such a hard worker! May she rest in peace.
Dear Anne,
I was so saddened to hear this news. I know how deeply you loved her and how devoted you were in caring for her. You often mentioned how devote she was & involved with the church. She is now at peace in the presence of God & you & your siblings & family have wonderful memories.
With heartfelt sympathy,
To all the Pelletier’s

She was one of my favorites for sure. There wasn’t a time that she didn’t pass through Syracuse, that she didn’t made time for mom and dad! When I think of her, I just think of such fond memories.
Know that she has eternal peace! And she is reunited with some very fine people! I hope they’re all enjoying each other‘s company !
All our love,
