  2. May we always remember to make ourselves familiar with the angels and behold them frequently in spirit; for without being seen, they are present with you. Without a doubt my husband’s nephew always greeted all with a beautiful smile and great sense of humor. Forever family, #gigliottilovewinks

  5. Me. Pomponio was a great man. I remember playing “horse” basketball with him years ago. His famous line “just a little bank shot” rings in my ears whenever I think of him. I worked for him a couple of times and he was funny, caring and a very wise man. I learned some good things and I am forever grateful for having known him. I pray for peace for all of the family.

  8. I met Mr. Pomponio for the first time visiting him at his nursing home in Fairport N.Y. He is a man with great integrity and funny as well. I visited with his sister n Scott who invited to meet his dad. While We were there we sat and talked and the memories were real special. Rest in peace Mr. Pomponio we will always remember your smile and how you cared! Stay in peace! Love Rose and Scott.

  9. I am so sad to read this obituary. Dick and I worked closely with each other for seven years, at Wegmans! I was office mgr and he was store mgr. Whenever they transferred him to a different store, I followed! He was a very caring man, who loved his family, especially Rosemary, very much. The last time I spoke to him, Rosemary was in the nursing home. I have tried to call him again, many times. I didn’t know where he was!
I will always have great memories of one of the funniest guys ever! RIP Dick

  10. Dick was a great friend to myself and my late husband, John Lyle. We had wonderful times together with he and Rosey…out for fish fry then the games for our boys and then out to celebrate the wins. We had many laughs and shared many adventures.
My heartfelt thoughts to his beautiful family.

  11. I knew Dick from the time I was a kid. He would come over to Elm Street and hang out with our gang. Later, he rented an apartment from my father on Elm Street. My wife and I hung out with Dick and Rosemary after we were first married, going out to dinner and just getting together to chat. I’ll always remember Dick for his smile and his quick wit. RIP, my friend.

  12. Saddened to hear of Dick’s passing. Dick was a friend and great classmate (Fairport Class of 1963); glad he was able to attend our 60th class “get together”.

  13. Great friend and great family. We were childhood friends born one year apart on the same day which Dick would never let me forget. I was also their family paperboy who always arrived at dinner time to collect for the weekly newspaper and Dicks mother Bucky, would always ask me to stay for dinner. Dick and I caddied at Midvale Golf Course, shoveled driveways and sidewalks together in the winter, and collected old newspapers to take to Hi Lazerson for extra money. I would be invited to their cottage on Canandaigua Lake for a week where Dick and I would fish, swim, and just have a ball together. I will miss Dick, such a great friend with that happy smile and quick wit. Rest in peace my friend until we meet again.

  14. Fond memories. Back when Dick was about 8 years old, he would be my teammate in a pick up football game in the field across from their house on Demand Park A. We would play against his older brother Rick and my younger brother John. Dick and I always won. Our paths went different way as we got older. But when we met in a store or on the street, we always reminisced about the good times. I can’t remember the details, but will never forget the smile.
    My condolences to the family.

  15. Dick will be in my heart forever. He had that constant beautiful smile. We were great friends all thru kindergarten until we graduated high school and after. I loved the whole family and Sue was like my little sister .
You will be truly missed Dick and I am sure we will meet up again. Love you buddy.

  17. So , so sad to hear of Dick’s passing. A real gentleman and a good friend for over 50 years. First met him when we worker together at Wegmans. Married my classmate Rosemary. Could never beat him in arm wrestling. Great memories and will miss him dearly.

  18. I was so sad to hear about Dick passing away. He was always happy and could make me laugh. Our sons were friends and he’d share with me what they were up to. I will miss running into him around town.

  19. Dick was the store manager at the Mount Hope Store when I was there as a college Student. It was a smaller store. The “word” was Dick was transferred there from the Fairport store, near where he lived to make him work harder and lose some weight. I found him very genial. R I P
