Howard was born and raised in Rochester, NY. He graduated from East High School and went on to college at Rochester Institute of Technology where he obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering. He began work as an intern apprentice at Eastman Kodak Company before he was drafted by the United States Army during the Korean War. He served overseas in Germany for 2 years and reached the rank of Sergeant. Upon his return from the service, he met and married Patricia (Hirsch) and moved to Webster, NY. They were married for 69 years before her death in 2023. They had 3 children, 10 Grandchildren and 9 Great-children.
Howard worked for Kodak for 40 years as a draftsman, and many of his designs and inventions went on to be patented. He was a 67 year life member of the West Webster Fire Department. The fire department was like family as he and Pat made many life long friends there and enjoyed spending time together with their families.
After retiring, Howard and Pat moved to Timber Pines, a golfing community in Spring Hill, Florida, where they enjoyed life with many friends and lived there for 22 years before moving back to Fairport in 2018.
Howard loved to bowl and play golf, and he was in several leagues and tournaments in both sports over the years. He also loved to play cards, especially Gin with his grandsons. He played solitaire daily-he wore the spots off many decks of cards over the years. Howard had a great sense of humor, and loved a good party. He found the right partner for that as he and Pat lived life to the fullest partying and traveling the world together.
He will be missed so much by his loving family.
