Karen and family – so sorry to hear of your loss. He was truly one our “Greatest Generation”. Believe that your Mother and Aunts were “German farm Kin’ to my Mother’s, mostly Webster family (Bueg’s, also Schutt’s, etc.). Anyway, I cherish the memory of walking from James St.to Hulbert Ave. with my Mother and Sister, Marge, to visit.
God Bless,
Ken Lerch
Karen, I am sorry to hear your dad didn’t get to celebrate his approaching 100th birthday. It is truly a shame but I am guessing he enjoyed the anticipation too. Good to hear he stilled the life he wanted to have.he always had a nice smile. My sympathies to all that will miss him.
I’m sorry to here of your loss, I only remember you Dad as a quiet man who walked u and down the street with your Mom before it became fashionable to walk for exercise. I knew your mother better, and your Aunts Ruth and Grace. I have a couple of recipes of your Aunt Ruth’s that she gave my grand mother and I got my grandmother’s cook book after her death. I still make her brown bread recipe with molasses and raisins and buttermilk in wheat flour. I ‘m very sorry for your loss!
