In loving memory of Sharyn M. Reed
It is with profound sorrow that we share the news of the unexpected passing of Sharyn M. Reed on November 14, 2023.
Sharyn, the proud owner of a unique “Y,” insisted, “Why? Because I’m not normal,” a sentiment that encapsulates her spirited approach to life. Born on December 8, 1945, in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, NY, Sharyn embarked on a remarkable journey through life, accompanied by her beloved husband Dennis J. Reed until his passing in June 2009.
A vivacious soul, Sharyn lived by her own set of rules, embracing the extraordinary while cherishing solid family bonds. Known for her strength and unconventional spirit, she had a way of expressing herself that could elicit laughter or leave you in delightful shock.
Sharyn has left an indelible mark etched on our hearts, a testament to a life well-lived. Regrettably, she has taken the secret recipe for her famous fried chicken with her, leaving us to savor the memories of its delectable flavor.
Survived by her daughter Dee J. Reed and her fiancé Matthew Krais, as well as daughter “Frankie” Dawn Engelbert (Reed) and her husband John W. Engelbert, Sharyn is also remembered by her two sisters, Julia McMillon and Sandra Vega. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Mika Bragg, Jaymes Bragg, Darrius Reed, Rahda Reed, Daniella Reed and McKayla Krais.
In celebrating Sharyn’s life, we honor a woman who moved to the rhythm of her own heartbeat, leaving behind a tapestry of laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the warmth of the memories she created.
Calling Hours Monday November 20, 2023 4-6PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport, where a Funeral Service will take place Tuesday November 21, 2023 10AM.

You made me laugh out loud. Is there a better way to be remembered? I think not. It was an honor and delight to know you, Sharyn. Peace to you.
I don’t know who wrote the above but you did a perfect job!!!
I loved being in her presence!
I’m sure she is up in heaven cracking everyone up.
She was her own person and I loved that about her!
My condolences to all of you.
Dear Frankie and D.J.,
I was so sorry to hear about your mom. It was obvious (and it’s obvious in this obit!) you all had a close and fun relationship. I hope all the great memories continue to give you laughs, even as you seek peace with her death. May her memory continue to be a blessing to you and your family!
