It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Edna (Ferrin) Reid, age 92, of Fairport, NY, on July 29, 2025. Edna passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 7, 1933 and was a lifelong resident of the East Rochester and Fairport area.
Edna was pre deceased by her beloved husband Richard Reid, her granddaughter Theresa (Terry) Kohl, and her siblings Joan Lucci and Allen Ferrin.
She is survived by her loving children: Kathryn Ragan, Colleen (John) Kohl, Amy (Gerald) Savoie, Maureen (David) Krenzer, Richard (Jodi) Reid, and Kelly (Brian) Reid-Waldock. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Christopher, Patrick, Maria, John, Megan, Elizabeth, Joseph, Alyssa, Maddy, and Irene, and a loving great-grandmother to her great-grandchildren.
Edna spent over 40 years as a dedicated nurse, caring deeply for her patients and colleagues. Even in her later years, while living in assisted care, she continued to extend her kindness and nurturing spirit to those around her. A devoted Catholic, Edna’s faith was the foundation of her life, and she lived each day with gratitude, humility, and compassion for others.
She will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her selfless heart, and her gift for caring for others.
Calling Hours will be held at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral home on Route 31 on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 4-6 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:15 AM on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Church of the Assumption in Fairport.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edna’s memory to Fairport/Perinton Senior Connections, supporting their vital services for seniors.

Bob and I are thinking of all you during this sad time. “Aunt” Edna’s kindness and gentle spirit will be missed. Our fondest memory Of Edna goes back over 50 years. One of you girls (I think Maureen) caught my wedding bouquet at our reception and your Mom saved a sprig of the English Ivy. She potted it and nutured a beautiful plant which she gave us a year later. We treasured it for years.

Talking to her on my trips to Fairport was always a highlight. Many hugs to you all as I will not be able to come up for the funeral.
I am filled with sadness and grief over the passing of my dearest Aunt Edna. She was so like my mother, her sister Joan, in looks and personality.
they were such great friends too. This is a passing of a generation. I remember the times she hosted our 2 families at the lake or in her home. 4th of July weekend every year at the lake with her and Uncle Dick and all my cousins was always a great time. the 2 sisters also took turns hosting a Christmas get together every year when we were little. She was always so warm and loving even when trying to correct our behavior. She will be missed greatly. My condolences to my cousins. A great loss.
