Robert “Bob” Remington, 84, of Fairport, NY, passed away on January 07, 2026 after a long battle with dementia.

Dad was born on September 20th 1941 to Marguerite Carlin and Harry Sylvester Remington in Rochester, NY. After graduating from Fairport high school in 1960 , he joined the Marine Corps. After returning from the Marines he married his beautiful wife, Patty Memmo and they married on April 20th 1963. Together they had children Bobby & Lisa.

Dad was determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. Fairport was his home. He grew up there as did his mother and father, and was so proud to be a Red Raider. Dad played basketball and soccer in high school and was the first graduating class at Minerva Deland. Dad won a scholarship in soccer from the U of R, but joined the Marines instead.

Dad was passionate about his family and made extra efforts to spend time with them all, no matter what. He loved to watch his grandchildren play sports (Megan (John), Bobby (Jessica), Brynn (Nick) and Felicia (Mike)) and attended all of their events. Anyone who knew Dad knew that he was the most loving husband, father, papa, and big papa to 8 great grandchildren, Jaiden, Noah, Bailey, Kyler, John Michael, Jameson, Lennox and Levi. They were all the love of his life!

There will be calling hours on Thursday January 15th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and a mass funeral on Friday January 16th at 9:30am at the Church of the Assumption in Fairport.
