Pat was born and raised in Riverhead, NY as the daughter of Norbert and Elizabeth Conklin. She was the eldest of three children, and her family later adopted a 4th child. She spent a number of hours working at the family diner, establishing her life-long appreciation of breakfast food. She graduated from Riverhead Central Schools in 1961. She attended Suffolk Community College and later graduated from Johnston State College in Vermont with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She taught kindergarten in Shoreham Schools on Long Island, where she met her husband of 54 Years: Raymond. She then stayed home full-time to raise her two loving daughters. She later returned to be an elementary school substitute teacher in Riverhead Schools and Middle Island Schools until her retirement from teaching.
Their family life was lived in Wading River, NY and was filled with Sunday pasta dinners and summer camping trips. They later built a cottage in the Catskills where they spent many summers. Upon retirement, Pat and Ray relocated to Fairport, NY to be closer to their children and grandchildren. They also became snowbirds and enjoyed winters in sunny North Fort Myers, Florida.
Pat enjoyed singing and was active in the choirs at Church of the Assumption in Fairport and St. Therese in North Fort Myers. Pat was always an active participant in every parish of which she was a member. Some of her happiest times were laughing and singing with her choir friends. She loved the camaraderie. Pat also loved a good family gathering, especially enjoying good food and even better desserts. She cherished her grandchildren, always delighted in hearing about their various adventures. She also enjoyed playing in 2 Bocce leagues, both in Penfield and in Florida.
