Carole Rudman (Rowles), 77, of Fairport, NY passed away on July 28, 2026 after a two-year battle with ALS. She was born in Spencer, West Virginia on Christmas Day in 1948. Carole grew up in Akron, Ohio, before moving to the Rochester, NY area in 1980. She married James (Jim) Rudman in 1987. Carole and Jim enjoyed living in their Perinton, NY home for 37 years.
In addition to her husband, Jim, Carole is survived by her sisters Tanya McGough and Donna Serdinak; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and Robert Snyder; nieces, Teresa Amoroso and Tamara Olmstead; Teresa’s son, Ryan; Tamara’s husband, Dan; and their children, Ethan and Liliana. She was predeceased by her mother, Opal M. Rowles (Greathouse); father Elmer A. Rowles; and brothers Ronnie, Dewey, and William Rowles.
Carole’s career spanned a variety of accounting and computer related jobs. Beyond work, she devoted her free time to her beautiful gardens. Carole passionately gave back to children and devoted countless hours each year obtaining toys for the Pirate Toy Fund, which serves the Greater Rochester area. She adored her cats, with others often addressing her as “Cat Mommy.” Carole and Jim spent countless enjoyable hours birdwatching and going on day trips.
Per Carole’s wishes, no memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rochester Emergency Veterinary Services, located in East Rochester, NY, or to a charitable organization of your choice.
