Gail L. Rybicki

Gail passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024 at age 77.  She is survived by her husband Edward of 47 years. There were no children.

Gail was born December 7, 1946 in Ogdensburg, NY to Howard and Jean Pruner. She lived her early years in Waddington, NY and graduated in 1964 from Madrid-Waddington High School. She then moved to Buffalo, NY to study Food Service Administration at Erie County Technical Institute. After graduation she worked as a food service and dietary supervisor at University of Buffalo.

She married in 1976 in Buffalo and moved to Fairport, NY in 1981. Gail was an independent person who enjoyed people, the outdoors, and particularly, animals. At home, there was always a cat by her side or on her lap. She enjoyed doing volunteer work — the old Fairport Library book sale during Canal Days was an event she especially looked forward to. Garage sales were a major summertime activity. She loved having them and going to them. Gail was a collector.  In the summer she went to craft shows — in the winter it was auctions. Jigsaw puzzles became a major wintertime activity at which she became very adept. She could piece together a thousand piece puzzle in six hours.

Gail suffered a series of mild strokes which curtailed much of her activities over the last six years. Interment will be in Waddington, NY.  Services and interment will be private.
