Our loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, Jim Schreiner, peacefully passed on September 16, 2016 in his home of 47 years with his family by his side.
Survived by wife of 50 years Kathy (Zimmer), sons Jim and (Diane), Andy and (Erica), grandchildren Rachel and Kyle.
Jim is survived by his Schreiner family: Jean and (Joe) VanScott, Carol Sonnenfroh, Donna Barlow, Gary and (Sally) Printy; his Zimmer family: Christine Russell, Paula and (Gary) Cook, Bill and (Melissa) Zimmer; many nephews, nieces and cousins and also many good friends, neighbors and business associates.
Jim was drafted at 19 and served his country during the Viet Nam War. He believed in and demonstrated the American work ethic. He was a hard working man for his family.
In 1988 he formed JEI (Jim’s Enterprise, Inc.) a premier heavy haul trucking business. Jim mentored many who went on to have successful owner/operator trucking businesses. He was highly respected by his customers and colleagues. It was well know “however high or wide, Jimmy could move it”. After semi-retirement Jim enjoyed traveling to truck shows all over the country in his restored trucks.
Above all, Jim was devoted to his family, home and to his country. Always treating Kathy like a Queen, and showing Jim and Andy by his example how to grow to be good men, husbands and citizens. Our family was always ready for an adventure, a road trip, and many exciting episodes usually involving dune buggies, restored cars, boats and camping at “The Land”.
A thank you to all who supported Jim and our family throughout his illness.
Calling hours Monday 3-7 at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, (Egypt Location), 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd., Fairport, where a Service will be held Tuesday 10AM. Interment North Farmington Friends Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Farmington Veteran’s Memorial, 1000 County Road 8, Farmington, NY 14425.

Sorry for your loss Jim!
Very sorry for your loss Kathy, Jim, and Andy. He was a great man, and I always looked up to him and loved to see what was going on with the trucks growing up. I’m saddened by the news.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Kathy and your family. Keep all those wonderful memories close to your heart. I thank Jim for his service to our country. I remember all the fun times we had when the kids were younger.
