Allan Schroeder passed away peacefully on Friday Feb 7th 2020 at the age of 81. He had a long battle with a terminal lung & heart disease. He was fortunate to outlive initial predictions for the ailment by approx. 2 years.
Allan was born on 8/21/38 in Rochester NY. He grew up in Irondequoit and attended St Salom’s as well as Aquinas Highschool. Allan attended St Bonaventure University graduating in 1960. Upon graduation, Allan spent a short time in the National Guard and then married Donna Dibley in 1961 (Donna passed in 2011).
Allan had a fantastic professional career in the computer leasing and finance industry. During that time he was also very active in multiple youth sports (as a coach) and professional refereeing for basketball games.
In retirement, Allan had several passions such as skiing, boating, golf, traveling, Syracuse University Sports and being a grandfather. After Donna passed he was fortunate to spend the majority of his remaining years with Patricia Fell whom he considered his wife.
Alan is survived by David Schroeder (son), Stacey, Jack and Grace Schroeder (wife of son & grandchildren), Patricia Fell Schroeder and Eileen Dibley (sister of Donna).
The most endearing characteristics of Allan were: his true love for people, the relationships he fostered and his un-matched positive outlook on life. Even during his final days he was smiling, upbeat, joking and never complained.

Allan was a great dad to David—always there for him. When Allan visited David at St. Bonaventure he always offered me sound career advice. He will be missed for the kindness and wisdom he offered. A great fellow –Bona Alum!
Allan was our cousin and we always loved spending time with him. We are very sad to hear of his passing. Allan always had great stories to tell and he was a great source for life advice. We particularly loved his passion for life. Allan loved playing sports and later loved watching sports. Beyond all that Allan loved his family and friends more than anything else. Our thoughts and prayers are with David and his family.
