Jim, Erica and Alison – Laura was a force of nature with a determination that carried her years beyond what doctors predicted. Her love of her family will leave an imprint on your hearts forever. We would not trade the 24 years on Shadow Vale Drive for anything. It was a tight knit street with famous block parties & shenanigans. Our thoughts are with you all. I’m so sorry for your loss. I remember Laura fondly from our youth. May her memory be a blessing to all of you.
I remember Laura when she and her family moved to Chili. She was a spark of joy and enthusiasm. I was the backyard neighbor who enjoyed her and her horse.
May your family have peace as you weave her death into Life. God bless you all!
All my thoughts and my love to my beloved friend Angela and her family. May Laura be in peace.
Laura was my Sweet & Spicy Virgo Soul Sister. As her hairdresser we would talk endlessly about our shared love for family, travel and food. She was a fierce brave warrior. Erica, Allie, Jim and her entire family-may GOD’s peace and your Beautiful memories bring you comfort during this difficult time. My words seem inadequate but please know that Laura was truly LOVED by so many 💔
We are so sorry to hear of Laura’s passing. She had an amazing positive attitude especially throughout the last few years and it was contagious. We loved her smile and enthusiasm for life. I, Martha, loved having her in my Jazzercise classes way back when ! She loved to Jazzercise with her besties and our visits with Elaine and Joey. With deepest sympathy, Martha and Tim Marlow
Laura was an instrumental part of expanding my teaching career and I was so lucky she chose me to join her team at Bates. She is a pioneer in childcare and was an amazing mentor. She will be missed and forever remembered. Sending hugs, love, prayers, and condolences to her family. She will be watching over and sending signs of love.
I went to High School with Laura. She was always a great person to be around as she spread joy to all of us. We reconnected a few years ago on Facebook and she still had that ability to make one smile. The angels have a new soul to show all the ropes to – hopefully they have some great horses too! RIP, beautiful!! Patti Moran Bourne

Deepest condolences to all of Laura’s family on her passing. I went to King’s Prep High School and that is where I first met Laura when she enrolled as a freshman in 1967. Always admired her spunk and energy. I was 2 years ahead of Laura and had little if any contact with her after I graduated in 1969. Got reacquainted with Laura when she played such a huge role in the organization of the all classes reunion for KP about 3-4 years ago.
Laura was a spirited and committed person who always was an energizer bunny of sorts. The tributes to her are so spot on and show what a wonderful human being she was. May Laura have eternal happiness with the Big Guy upstairs in Paradise. May Laura have eternal happiness and peace.
God bless Laura and all of her family members.
So so sorry for your loss.

Laura was the first person who hugged me when I had to leave my 3-month old baby at Bates-Rich Childcare for the first time. And then proceeded to create the best learning environment for both my boys with caring teachers and staff. I am grateful to have experienced Laura’s joy and sad she had to leave our world too soon. Her memory will live on through all the stories our family has about the Bates Rich adventures. Laura helped make those adventures possible for our boys.
My heart goes out to all her family and wish them comfort as they go through this unimaginable time. We are so very sorry.

My condolences to Jim, Erica, Allie and all of your wonderful family. I first met Laura at the Childcare Directors Administrative Council over twenty years ago and we worked well together. Laura was a great mentor to me and I so appreciated her knowledge and expertise. It was great to become friends over the years and share experiences about our kids and life in general. Laura’s smile and enthusiasm will sure be appreciated in heaven. Love and good memories to you all.

I have many memories of Laura from our time at King’s Prep High School. We reconnected 50 years later while working with other schoolmates to plan the KP reunion. She was a powerhouse. Blessings to her family and all those who loved and cared deeply for her.
I will miss Laura, knowing that such a spirited and loving that she was has left us. I am glad for her new home in heaven with our gracious Savior. She always added such fun and love of life. I first met Laura in grade school at St. Augustine and then next at Kings Preparatory. Then at Mercy High School. I am so grateful for the friendship we shared. I am also so glad we both survived while she drove, experimenting with speed!! These are just a few of such enjoyable memories.
Thinking of all of you on this day. My heart goes out to all the family. I’m thankful for the the visits we had during the early years of life. All my love and condolences. Aunt Betty.

Laura was one of the bright stars of Jazzercise back when I was a regular. I ran into her a few years ago and commented on her short hair. She replied oh, it’s a wig. I have cancer” as matter-of-factly as if she was telling me she’d broken a nail. We were Facebook friends so I was able to follow her courageous journey. I am sharing in your sorrow. May previous memories ease the pain.
I met Laura through pickleball. Her strength, persistence and upbeat attitude during her battle with cancer were remarkable. Rest in peace Laura.
May you rest in peace, Laura. You surely put up a good fight. I’m glad all the worries and PET scans are behind you. Now please watch over me.
