I had the absolute pleasure of working with Donna for many years at Dudley School. She was an outstanding teacher and friend who was supportive and encouraging to everyone. I always think of her whenever I see a sailor’s hat. She will be profoundly missed! Condolences to Donna’s wonderful family and many friends.

The sudden lose of my sweet sister-in-law came as a shock to Peg and myself. She loved giving me the business about being “the baby”of the family. I loved that and we loved her. See ya in the funny pages sis.

So many wonderful thoughts come to mind when I think of Donna Snyder and beloved Terry. 2 of our boys were fortunate enough to be a 2nd grader in the Snymur (then Snysson) Crew. They have wonderful memories and Donna made sure their educational foundations were solid all the while the having fun and laughing throughout their school day. Donna was devoted to her family in every way, even when Brian and Steph were in their teens and provided challenges to her calm and unending love. A beautiful woman that is gone too soon. Know you all are in our thoughts and prayers.
Donna was an amazing sweet dear friend. I will never forget our trips to Potsdam and Boston. It was an honor to have had her in my life. Terry I will always be appreciative and remember the generous hospitality you and she gave me when visiting you. Love to you all.
My family had the pleasure not just once but twice to have Donna as a teacher for the crew. To the family we hope you are able to keep all the love she had for you in your hearts
Terry, so sorry to hear about Donna. We have fond memories of you guys even back in the 70’s. She always was gentle and kind. Lorrie and I enjoyed her sense of humor. All our best. Thinking of you and your family.
Dear Terry, Brian, Stephanie and family, our hearts are broken at this news. Donna had such a love for life! She will be greatly missed. Know you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
My daughter was a member of the S.S. Snyssen Crew. 2nd grade was a wonderful year for her; thanks in large part to Mrs. Snyder. I’m very sorry for your great loss.
Dear Fern. I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. Didn’t know her but sounds like she’s was a remarkable person and a wonderful Mom. Know it’s tough time and thinking of you
Donna was the epitome of a beautiful human being. I had the joyful pleasure of adopting her second grade class. One of the biggest woodworking projects of mine was making packet boats with kids from Martha Brown for every kid in her class. I fondly remember the wonderful crafts that we were lucky to get hand crafted by Donna at Christmas time. Rest In Peace dear one.
Thanks for the beautiful thoughts. She was a dear friend for all my 30 years in the district.
My daughter Caroline was part of the Snyssen Crew the year that Dr. Cala adopted the class. I remember the painting of those packet boats and accompanying the class on the Colonial Belle trip. That was an amazing year for Caroline and all the Crew members. Mrs. Snyder was a warm and wonderful educator. My deepest sympathy to her family.
Steve and I both send our sincere condolences on the passing of Donna. As a neighbor,, she was a thoughtful, helpful gem. I have sweet memories the fun Bridget and Stephanie had as Donna and I helped each other with getting our daughters on and off the school bus since our teaching hours differed.. Her sweet personality and caring nature will be deeply missed..
I first met Donna when we both started teaching first grade at Dudley School . We taught first grade together for 18 years and then went on to teach second grade. Those were some fun years . I always admired her artistic talent. She was a bridesmaid in our wedding and such a dear friend. We had fun playing softball together and attended a few NY Yankee games with both Donna and Terry. My sincere sympathy goes out to Terry, Stephanie, Rob, Brian, Gretchen, Peyton, Aubrey, Jack, and Avery.
Dear Steph and family ,
I am so sorry for your loss. May your many wonderful memories provide you with some comfort. It is so difficult to say that final goodbye. You will all remain in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Laura
Donna was a beloved sister of the Phi Lambda Phi Sorority and the PLPAA at SUNY Oswego. As an alumna, she created decorations for our dormitory doors and table settings during reunion weekend that demonstrated her crafty creativity and generous spirit. Also, Donna was so easy to talk with and a “good hang” who spent time to get to know sisters who came after her. Many of have written remembrances of Donna on our group’s Facebook page, she was a treasure. Sincere condolences to her family and friends.
Have many happy memories of growing up with Donna…many laughs, giggles and special times…will hold them in a special place…thinking of the family as they say goodbye today!
Sincere sympathy to your family. I have good memories of Donna as my son, Jeff’s teacher at Dudley School. many, many years ago.
