Margaret “Peggy” Staudmyer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, following a brief illness.
Peggy was born on January 19, 1935, in Corning, New York, to Harold Lee , Sr. and Margaret Lee. One of six children, she learned early the values of kindness, helpfulness, and quiet dignity—qualities that guided her throughout her life.
After marrying Melbourne Staudmyer, Peggy eventually settled in Fairport, New York, where her entrepreneurial spirit took root. She founded Peggy’s Bridal Shop in the basement of her home, turning a passion for service and style into a lifelong vocation. The business later moved to Victor, New York, where Peggy spent more than 40 years in the bridal and prom dress industry, helping countless brides and families celebrate some of life’s most meaningful moments.
Following her retirement, Peggy devoted her time to what mattered most to her—cherishing moments with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed many years of companionship living with and spending time alongside one of her sisters, continuing the close family bonds she held dear.
Peggy was preceded in death by her sisters Nancy Why and Judy Metcalf, and her brothers Harold (Sonny) Lee and Gary Lee.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Suzanne Donnelly; her sons, Alan (Kent) Staudmyer (Bonnie) and Brett Staudmyer (Catherine); her grandson, Ryan Staudmyer; her granddaughter, Haley Staudmyer (Levi Condran); and her sister, Roxanne Mourhess of Campbell, New York.
Calling Hours Tuesday March 31, 2026 1-3PM at the Richard H Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport. A graveside service will follow on April 1, 2026, at Fairview Cemetery in Painted Post, New York.

What a beautiful, caring, loving woman. We lived next door to each other in Fairport Senior apartments for more than a year. She was light & love who was always welcoming, kind, & considerate. Any time I dropped off her HoneyNut Cheerios; Blueberry muffins; or small dinner plates, she would write me a Thank You card!
Rest well, dear, sweet Lady. Rest.

Sue I’m so sorry for you and your family’s loss. I remember the first I saw all of your mom’s dresses in your basement. I went home and told my mom that Mrs. Staudmyer must be a princess because she has all princess dresses. Your Mom always had a smile on her face and was so welcoming. She was amazing and will be missed. Terry Pfeffer
Sue & Family:
Do not cry, she’s only away, gone to heaven forever to stay. She left her earthly life one sunny day when angels took her away.
She now lives in the land of heavenly bliss, plays in fluffy clouds and golden mist.
She flys down the milkey way on gossimer wings, listens to an angel choir as they sing.
Peggy is at peace now, and lives with our Lord. There she’ll dwell forever more.
Some day we’ll be together again, when I meet her in heaven
at my life’s end,
-until then, SHE’S JUST AWAY.
You all have wonderful memories that you will cherish forever. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Thinking if all of you. The house on Country Corner Lane will always be the Staudmyer’s! I began working for Peggy in the shop in the basement before it became Peggy’s Bridal. And then every Saturday I babysat you all while she worked at the shop. I loved her so! I wonderful mentor in my life as I went on to become a buyer at the B. Forman Co. after college. A wonderful friend to my mother! We were all lucky growing up in Brambleridge!
