Ruthann Svatek, age 86, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2020. She leaves her loving and devoted husband, Franklin, her children and many close friends.

Born April 17, 1934 and raised in Denver, Colorado, she was the daughter of Raymond Fox and Sarah Camblin.  After graduating from South High School in Denver in 1952, she attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for a short time and eventually moved to upstate NY where she spent her remaining years in Fairport and Macedon.

Ruthann was President of Allegra Print & Imaging in Fairport at the Box Factory before retiring in 2005.  She was very involved in the Fairport Perinton Chamber of Commerce from 1990 – 2005, and served as President in 1994 and 1995.

Ruthann married Franklin Svatek in January 1990 and they were married for 30 years.

Ruthann had a true and endearing love for all animals.  She loved her “pet” cow Millie whom she met on a walk one day and would then visit frequently. Nothing made Ruthann happier than looking after her many cats through the years.  She especially loved her dear cat Emma who adored her more than anything in return.  Ruthann enjoyed knitting with her friends, putting photo albums together, gardening and watching all of the birds and wildlife in their back yard sanctuary.

A small, private service to celebrate her life will be held after Labor Day. If you wish to send flowers, arrangements are being handled by Keenan Funeral Home at 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd, Fairport, NY 14450. Donations may be made to your favorite charity that helps abused and abandoned animals, a cause that was always near and dear to Ruthann’s heart.
