S, VINCENT (VINCE) TRENCHARD passed away suddenly on September 30, 2021 at age 74. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Catherine (Katie), his stepsons, Michael Ryan (Tamara), Kristopher Ryan (Megan), his brother, Frank Trenchard and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by his parents, Madeline and Samuel Trenchard, Sr., his brother James (Margaret) and his sister, Patricia.
Raised in Macedon New York, Vince graduated Victor High School in 1966. He joined the US Navy, serving his country where he was given the Armed Forces Meritorious Unit Citation, the National Defense Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and during peacetime, the Medal for Merit for exemplary performance of outstanding services in direct support of combat operations.
Vince retired from Eastman Kodak in 2019 and subsequently worked for the Town of Marion retiring after 10 years. He loved his fellow coworkers of Marion and could be found doing many maintenance chores with the Water Department or simply enjoying a cup of coffee (and of course a nibble or two) on break at the office.
Vince was happiest outdoors and especially loved winter and snow. And more snow – often skiing down the slopes at Bristol Mountain or breaking trails with his snowmobile around Wayne County (oh, the stories…)
In the spring, summer and fall Vince could be found tending to his lawn and his gardens. We fondly called is vegetable ‘patch’ Grampa’s Garden where he shared his enthusiasm for gardening (and eating all manners of berries and vegetables) with his two grandchildren, Mason, and Kyla.
Vince loved well. His genuine kindness, caring and smile- whether it be for his family, friends, or neighbors he will be missed.
Calling Hours Thursday October 7, 2021 4-6PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his memory to Williamson American Legion Riders, P.O. Box 618, Williamson, New York 14589

Uncle Vince will be so missed my so many! I am still sorry for driving his snowmobile into the creek with Cousin Kim on the back. LOL Many fun memories!
Couldn’t have asked for a better step dad and friend.
My Favorite Uncle in the whole world. I’m in shock. Thank you for being such an amazing person. I’m finally headed back to the slopes this year with my youngest who is 2. He’s fearless like someone I know!! RIP say hi to my mom Peg up there. Xoxo
I have found memories of uncle Vince. Sunday family dinners. Him taking me for weekends at his house in Victor. Taking me skiing at Bristol. Family snowmobiling on Sundays. Yes Jodi and I did make it on the creek once or twice. I was so happy when you found Katie and love again. I believe you are having family dinners in heaven. Until we meet again, thank you for loving .
What would I say to you if I had one more chance??
Would I say “ Thank you for always bringing fun and laughter with you whenever you visit”?
Would I say “Thank you for loving my sister so deeply”??
Would I say “Thank you for teaching us to find joy in the little things“??
Or would I simply say “ I love ya, Man”??
You will be deeply missed.
We are filled with sadness and gratitude at Vince’s passing. Vince and Katie’s many kindnesses, especially to Patti and David, are still profoundly appreciated. We send our condolences and affection to Katie and his family and friends. Vince was a fine man.
Vince remember you from when we were kids, and we visited your Mom & Dad over near Pumpkin Hook. Your Mom was my Mom’s Cousin, and your Grandma Louise lived just down the road from us. You sound like you had a good life, and a loving family. I see too that you ended back in Marion NY where the Simmons, Breemes’s, and DeClerck’s grew up. Life is certainly a twisty road. RIP my Cousin.
Very sorry to hear of the passing of Vinnie. I worked with him at DPI. He was always friendly, helpful and a very nice person. I will pray for him and his family.
We did not know Vince that well.Only through the stories Catherine Would tell. It was obvious how much she loves him and what a nice human being he must be, I actually chatted with him in the waiting room At Cayuga Orthotics and Prosthetics but did not realize who he was.He was very friendly to a stranger so I can only imagine what it would have been like if we were friends. There is a line from the movie Wizard of Oz that says having a heart is not judged by how mush you love; but rather by how much you are loved by others. There is no doubt Vincent had a very large heart.
So sorry to hear of his passing,he was a great guy.many prayers for him and the family
