Nancy Lee Underhill passed away November 20, 2025 at the age of 81. Predeceased by her parents Albert and LaVilla “Billie” Underhill. Survived by her; sisters Linda (Wayne Swieki) Underhill, Pam (Daryl Remein) Underhill, Alfreda (Joseph) Meyers; niece Jennifer (Peter) Storelli, nephew Jason (Tiffany) Stollery; grandnephews Frank, Peter Jr., Dustin, Joey Storelli, grandnieces Billie Stollery, Anna Storelli, Angie Storelli, Eboni Perry; adopted daughter Rita Workman and numerous great-nieces and nephews; many cousins and friends.

Nancy was one of the kindest souls we have ever known – the kind of person who would do anything for anyone. She had a heart that seemed to stretch endlessly toward her family, friends and the people she cared for. She was dreamer, thinker, an entrepreneur, and someone who saw possibility long before the rest of us did.

In 1981 she had a vision – a family-owned Nursing Agency run with heart, fairness and compassion. She asked her cousin Penney to join her, and with nothing but determination and a classified ad recruiting nurses, TLC was born. Nancy insisted on excellent wages and a respectful environment, long before those ideas were common. She dreamed big and inspired all of us to do the same resulting in a contract with Monroe County Dept. of Health under whose governance the health care needs of the community were provided.

Nancy was the “thinker”, and her family and wonderful employees were the “doers.” Together with love, hard work, and her endless stream of ideas we built TLC into the largest licensed nursing agency in the county, and likely in the state. From caring for patients in their homes to staffing 22 nursing homes, our little “Mom and Pop” dream became, in her own way, a small empire.

Nancy was loved by everyone who knew her. She was generous, determined, funny and at times, delightfully unconventional. She will never be forgotten.

May she rest in peace, knowing she made a difference in our family, our community and in the countless lives she touched.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Homestead Nursing Home in Penn Yan, NY where she spent the last months of her life. The staff cared for Nancy with compassion, dignity and respect. Their kindness for Nancy and our family restored our faith in the healthcare system.

Family and friends may call at Richard Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport, NY 14450 on Sunday November 30, 2025 from 1pm to 4 pm. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, 115 Maple Avenue, Victor, NY 14564 on Monday December 1, 2025 at 10AM . Internment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Victor, NY.

Friends and family are welcome to dress with sparkled attire in honor of Nancy’s delightfully, unconventional style.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Foodlink (Rochester NY), Lollypop Farm (Fairport NY) or a charity on one’s choice.
