In the 85 years James (Jimmy) lived, he was so many things to so many people. He was a brother, a hero, a devoted and loving husband, the best dad, a wonderful grandfather, an uncle, and a friend. He had a great sense of humor (loved a dad joke) and a heart of gold.
Jimmy proudly served in the Army from 1956 to 1962. Following his military service, he continued to serve his community as a police officer with the Rochester Police Department, where he worked for 20 years.
Jimmy is predeceased by his wife Janet Vahue. He is survived by his children, Robert Vahue, Joe (Sue Zambito) Duemmel, Stacy (Brent) Blazey, Michael (Lynne) Duemmel, Jamie (Chris Bergstresser) Vahue; grandchildren, Robert (Emily) Vahue, Andrew Vahue, Alexandra (Harry Boone) Blazey, Devan (AJ) Blazey-Pow, Christian and Brendan Duemmel, great grandchildren; Madison, AJ, Evy, Vivian, Alicea, Violet, and James; Siblings, Katie Cole, Bill Vahue, Bernie Vahue, and Margaret Vahue; and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the NYS Veterans Home at Batavia where Jimmy was lovingly cared for.
