With deepest sorrow, we announce that Nicholas Valentine, age 22, our most beloved son, brother, family member, and friend passed suddenly on Monday, March 23, 2020.
Nicholas was born to Jay and Janet Valentine July 2, 1997 in Rochester, NY, and will be missed greatly by his parents, older brother and best friend Michael, grandparents Michael & Mary Ann Valentine, as well as his loving Aunts and Uncles; Richard & Laurie Keenan, Bill & Lori Keenan, Kathy & Bob Morrison, Kathy Valentine, Jeremy and Debbie Valentine, and John and Mary Beth Furch. Additional extended family members and friends, who cared and loved Nicholas deeply, included 15 cousins. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Paul & Joan Keenan.
Nicholas attended grade school at St. Louis in Pittsford, NY until the 6th grade, continuing his education at McQuaid Jesuit, and then graduated from Brighton High School in 2016.
To know Nicholas was to love and admire him for his carefree spirit, charming character, innocent smirk, and zest for the outdoors. He loved to snowboard, fish, travel and attend music festivals. Nicholas lived each day to its fullest: Traveling to different parts of the world, making friends every step of the way, with his infectious sense of humor, smile, and his authentic willingness to help others in their time of need, never judging anyone’s circumstances. It is safe to say that in his short time on earth, Nicholas touched the lives of many, and experienced more than most do in a lifetime.
God has now called Nicholas to rest, where he will continue his carefree ways, and be an angel to all the people whose lives he touched on earth.
Nicholas was laid to rest on Thursday, March 26, 2020 in a private ceremony. A gathering of Family and Friends to celebrate his life will be held at St Johns of Rochester, Saturday August 15, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
His family wishes to thank all of Nicholas’s friends and friends of the family, for their kind words and loving messages, during this difficult time.

With much sorrow and love Janet, Jay and Michael on the loss of precious Nick. May peace be with you. God Bless you all. The Mizzoni Family
Nick was truly wonderful person. I had only known Nick over the last three years through music festivals. During the times we spent together he was always laughing, making jokes, and keeping things fun. The energy Nick showed during concerts and the passion he had for music was admirable. You could truly see him in his element between dance moves and sometimes you could even catch him with his eyes closed with a giant smile on his face taking it all in. Music has the power to connect people but it takes a special type of person to make friends for life after just meeting. Nick had an infectious energy that allowed him to make friends around the country. Nick will be missed by more than his family may ever know. I hope whoever is reading this knows how great of a person he was deep inside.. Nick tried his best to make sure everyone around him was happy and that is just about the best quality you could ask for in a person. Sending love and thoughts.
I also have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Nick through the music festival scene that he loved so much. Our friendship grew and Nick became one of my closest friends. Nick was always so much fun to be around, and he always found a way to make everyone laugh; but Nick was also more than just a fun time. He was a sensitive, empathetic and generous person that would do anything for someone in need. Nick will never be forgotten and his spirit will be carried on through all who knew and love him. Deepest condolences to the Valentine family, I hope knowing how loved Nick was brings you comfort.

Sending you all our deepest sympathy at this most difficult time. Wishing you didn’t have to feel this pain. Your family, however far away, is keeping you close in love and prayer.
It brought a smile to my face to hear the wonderful comments from Nicks friends regarding his love of concerts and music. Janet, you often remarked to me about these very same traits, the traits you admired in Nick that they speak of and shared with us. The enormity and saddness in the loss of Nick to you Janet, Jay and Mike is palpable. My grief and heart ache for you all is limited to I’m so sorry for his passin-seems so understated. My faith leads me to believe, he followed the light and has eternal peace. He is in the arms of your parents Janet and all that have rises to a higher place. The pain may never heal but I believe… his light will forever brighten your paths and messages will be left to let you all know he is in a beautiful kindom.. A needed Angel among us. My head is spinning in grief and yet my heart echos silently ‘” He’s in blessed hands” .Sending all my love
