Geoffrey McBride Weaver Jr., 79, of Fairport, New York, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born in Ithaca, New York, in 1946, Geoff lived a life defined by dedication, achievement, and devotion to family. In 1975, Geoff married the love of his life Jane Herson. Together, they shared 50 years of marriage filled with partnership, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. He was the proud father of two sons, Geoff and Matt, who carry forward his values of hard work, kindness, and curiosity. His heart only grew with the arrival of his grandchildren, Aspen and Wesley.
Those who knew him will remember his sharp wit, generous spirit, and the way he could make every gathering brighter with his presence. A man of many passions, Geoff loved golf, cars, and history. One of his favorite activities was to hike the beautiful trails surrounding Rochester and Penn Yan with his beloved dog Lucy, where he found joy in miles of quiet steps and made many friendships along the way.
A proud graduate of Cornell University (BS and MBA), Geoff served his country honorably in the United States Army. Following his service, he built a distinguished career as an executive at several large firms, where his leadership and integrity earned him the respect of colleagues and peers alike.
At the end of his life, Geoff resided at the Memory Care Residences at Creekstone, where the staff provided extraordinary care, treating him and every resident with dignity, warmth, and compassion.
He is survived by his wife Jane, his two sons Geoff and Matt, their partners Lindsay and CJ, and his grandchildren Aspen and Wesley as well as Geoff’s sisters Margaret and Joyce. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though saddened by his loss, we do not think of this as goodbye, but rather, see you later.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Geoff’s memory to Rochester Presbyterian Home (Creekstone) or to a charity of one’s choice.

Jane, Geoff, and Matt. We were so sorry to read about Geoff’s passing. We have many fond memories of spending summers down at Keuka Lake and at the cottage with our families together. Swimming, sailing, water-skiing, and just hanging out on the dock. Geoff was always a positive and upbeat presence. He will be missed.
Such a wonderful man. This saddens Doreen and I greatly. We both respected him and valued his kind gentle spirit. We send our thoughts and prayers to Jane and the rest of the family. I think of my time getting to know you all at the lake house (including Lucy) with such fondness. Sending much love

Thinking of the Weaver family.
My condolences to all of Geoff’s family, and especially Jane. I knew Geoff in a professional capacity. I enjoyed our conversations, which were often long, deep, technical, and kept us in the office longer than we should have stayed. I learned much from him. God bless Geoff, and may his memory always be for a blessing.
The Veterans Outreach Center extends our deepest sympathy in Geoffrey’s passing.
We acknowledge and are truly grateful for his service to our country.
Jane, so sorry for you and your family. I know how much you will all miss Geoff and all of the good times you had at Keuka Lake.

A righteous and very kind, refined gentleman – an example to all.
I will never forget Geoff’s kindness and gracious character in the workplace, decades ago.
Jane, Geoff, and Matt- We are saddened to hear of your great loss of Geoff. He will always stay with you in your hearts.
I’m sorry to hear about that Mrs. Weaver. I remember meeting Mr. Weaver on the 4th of July years ago when I came with my family to your house for the 4th of July breakfast and I remember he and you came to my Bar Mitzvah. I’ll never forget Mr. Weaver in the rest of my life. I’ll always remember him forever.
