Fairport, NY December 24th 2023
Robert E. Weber passed away at home in the arms of his loving wife, Sue, in the early morning hours of December 24, 2023 at the age of 81. In addition to his devoted wife of 53 years, Bob leaves behind his brother Ron (Fran) Weber of Augusta Georgia, sisters-in-law Mary Weber of Seneca Falls, NY, Pati (Joe) Lawler of Wesley Chapel, FL, and brothers-in law Frank (Nancy) Conklin and John (Jan) Conklin of Murrieta, CA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Bob is predeceased by his parents, his brother Harold F. Weber, Jr. of Seneca Falls, NY and his niece and god-daughter Kristen Weber Glenn.
Bob was born on November 10, 1942 and grew up in Seneca Falls, NY. He attended St. Bonaventure University and was a United States Air Force veteran. After his service in the Air Force Bob settled in Rochester and began a 40-year career in the insurance industry, with a majority of that time as a Workers Compensation specialist for an insurance administrator and later as a consultant to the law firm Hamberger and Weiss.
Bob was an avid golfer, playing every Saturday during his working years and at least twice a week in retirement. At the start of each golf season it was the goal of his foursome to play a different course every outing. That challenge took him and his buddies to places all over the Finger Lakes, western and central New York. Bob had wonderful memories of playing at Pebble Beach and Torrey Pines. He even got to be a volunteer at the U.S. Open held at Torrey Pines in 2008.
Bob and Sue spent many happy retirement years traveling the world with family and friends. And in the U.S. their favorite destination was Charleston SC where they would spend the month of March in a carriage house in the historic district.
Bob loved good times with his family and many friends. Together with Sue, they were known for their annual clambakes and Christmas parties. He loved hosting casual dinners and get togethers with folks on the deck, all of which created wonderful memories for everyone Bob knew.
Bob was diagnosed with Alzheimers’s disease in 2015 and he met that diagnosis with fortitude and grace. Over the years the disease slowly robbed Bob of his independence, his clear, sharp thinking and his ability to fully participate in life. But the disease never took Bob’s determination, his sense of humor and his underlying caring, thoughtful disposition. God’s Christmas gift to Bob and his family came on Christmas Eve morning, as he slipped away and flew with the angels free of confusion and pain.

So sorry, Sue for your loss. You were very devoted to Bob, caring for him with love. Prayers are with you.
Susie, we have shared so many great times with you & Bobby over many years. The trips we shared along with all the laughs & good times will be memories never forgotten. Bobby was always a good friend & we love the thought he can now take care of Spanky again. We love you & Bobby.
Susie, our thoughts and prayers have been with you for a long time and will remain with you. What a wonderful caregiver you are. We have had so much fun together over the years. Dave and I remember the first clambake we attended. We were so excited, we got invited to a Weber clambake! I can still see Bob opening the clams and making those hoagies at the end of the night. Maybe he’ll have a clambake waiting for us in heaven. We love you guys!
The Veterans Outreach Center extends our deepest sympathy in Robert’s passing.
We acknowledge and are truly grateful for his service to our country.
Uncle Bob, Thank you for your caring, loving way of living life!! Thank you for your generous hospitality and the loving attention you brought to the great clam bakes that you and Aunt Susan threw on both the East and West coasts. We will always treasure the funny ways you told stories, your quaffed facial hair and your passion for travel, golf, and Aunt Susan. You were a great example of how to live life. Thank you. Uncle Bob!!! Kathryn & Kathleen
Aunt Susan, all we can say is YOU ROCK. Your loving kindness, wit and intelligence are rivaled only by your generosity of spirit and fine grace. Thank you for your example of living life and being a loving partner to Uncle Bob through ALL of life’s ups and downs. Our hearts are with you. We love you Aunt Susan.
From Pati and Joe Lawler: Bob and Sue have always been the center of our compass. In the most subtle of ways, they have set a stellar example of a life well lived. The rest of the world could only wish for such a great relationship with all the members of the family and revel in all the blessings that they have given the rest of us. Nobody will ever know how much Bob and Sue have done for others extreme measures and mostly in secret. And it’s true what others are saying about his sense of humor if that doesn’t get you through the day I don’t know what could. He will be sorely missed. And we know that our sister Sue could ask anything of us that we love her dearly as half of one of those spectacular marriages. May God bring him swiftly to heaven.
I honestly don’t know where to begin.
I became involved with the Weber family because of my marrige to Kristen Weber Glenn. Through that, and the difficult time we shared together of Kristen’s passing in 1999. The
Weber family became more than in-laws, they became family. Why, I do not know but they chose me. I spent many times with Bob and Sue golfing in Beech Mountain, NC. (Mostly me looking for lost balls) The Weber’s family helped me get my degree, and through that I am eternally grateful! I know Bob was proud of that!
I found my second wife Shelly in 2005 who had two small children, Taylor and Collin. We were accepted by the Weber’s as Papa, Granny, Uncle’s, and Aunt. Some of the many memories they recall include the Weber’s. We shared many adventures with Bob and Sue, including Hot Springs, AR., Oklahoma City, OK., Rochester, NY., New York City, NY., to name a few. We loved them all. I am blessed to be able to call Bob my Uncle. Shelly, Taylor, and Collin are heartbroken with his passing, but they also know he doesn’t have to suffer anymore.
Aunt Sue – YOU ARE A HERO! I saw first hand everything you did to keep Bob at home, and always making the day the greatest day for Bob. You said many times “Today is the best day that we will have!” You lived by that! You made his favorite meals – whatever he wanted when he could communicate, and then went from memory for the things you knew he liked when he couldn’t. So many things you did because you loved Bob! YOU ARE A HERO! I LOVE YOU!
We will never be the same without Uncle Bob! We pray for Bob, and everyone touched by his spirt.
Dear Susie: You and Bob were not only the best of friends but a fantastic team, especially hosting your renowned Christmas parties and clambakes and more, like the Couples Imitational. So much love and laughter and cherished memories – playing cards and dinner parties. Your compassion and love for your Bobby knew no bounds, and you showed up for him at the end like the lioness that you are. Keep on roaring. Love you always and forever. xoxo
