Fairport – June 16, 2020

Quietly passed away at 79 years after enduring a long illness.  Larry was born and raised in Old Zionsvilla, PA on March 5, 1941 to the late Clarence and Helen (Wieder) Wenner.

He is also predeceased by brothers, Clarence, Jr., Feryl, Carlton, Clyde, Donald and Edwin Wenner and sisters, Joyce Arndt and Jean Heffner.

Survived by his loving wife of just under 57 years, Jeanette (Militello), and sons, Daryl (Renee), Justin (Megan), as well as his two precious grandchildren, Vivian and Isaac.

Survivors also include brothers, Dale (Jeanette), Richard, and Kent (Bonnie), and sisters, Marion Buss, Helen DiMora, Annette Steigerwalt and Sandra (Roger) Grimes.  Sisters-in-law Carol Wiseman, Nancy (Walt) Walkowicz, and Elaine (Charles) Sacks.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Larry married the love of his life, Jeanette, on June 22, 1963. They raised their sons in Fairport, NY. He was self-employed with his brother, Richard, doing drywall and insulation starting in 1964.  He retired after 41 years with his two sons continuing on with the family business.

Larry was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 22, 1953 and was a member of the North Fairport congregation.  He spent much of his life learning about and teaching Bible truths to everyone he met, and he lived by Bible teachings. He enjoyed volunteering his time helping families and building Kingdom Halls throughout the region.

In his late 60’s he was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. As his lung ailment progressed to the point where he was eventually unable to leave his home comfortably, his family and dear friends in the congregation were the highlights in his life in addition to his wonderful wife who became his continual, never-tiring caregiver. His grandchildren were a special joy and he adored them very much. He also loved to put together puzzles – who can forget the many puzzles he completed! As long as they weren’t more than 500 pieces. Although we occasionally questioned whether or not he used a hammer and chisel to make the pieces fit. If you called him on it, he would just give you a look that would be sure to make you laugh.

He has many treasured friends who saw him as a man of faith and integrity.  He will be greatly missed.

Special thanks to Cindy and Dr. David Bressler as well as Dr. Michael Kallay for their medical care over the years

A zoom memorial of Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, June 27 at 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the worldwide work of Jehovah’s Witnesses at www.jw.org.
