Barney, Patricia

Patricia (Patti Montante) Barney of Fairport, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 5, 2024. Patricia is predeceased by her brother Sam Montante. Patricia is survived by her husband Larry Barney; her children, Michael (Kim) Pittinaro; Ashley (Matt) Pheilshifter; her three grandchildren (Zuriñe, Weslyan and Greysen); step son David (Jackie) Barney; her parents Louis and Christine Montante; her brother Michael; her sister in-law Andrea, and lots of nieces and nephews.   

Patricia was an amazing, caring, and loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend, who, in her later years, dedicated her life to her parents, husband, kids, grandchildren, and pets. She spent many days with her grandchildren, smiling, laughing, and guiding them on a path to be wonderful people. When she was not with her grandchildren, she was spending time with her parents, her husband, and her many animal children. She never forgot a birthday, she always knew what was going on in our lives, always expressed excitement for us, and always told us how happy, proud, and grateful she was, and for the people that we became.

Our mother was a special kind of person, the kind of person that many people wished they could meet or know in their lifetime, and many people strived to be like; Selfless, compassionate, loyal, and authentic. If there is one trait that makes us all smile when we think about her, it would be our mother’s unwavering commitment to being herself, pursuing the things that make a person grateful for their experiences, and insisting that we settle for nothing less in our own lives.

Services for Patricia will be held on Saturday, February 17^th, 2024 at 10:00 at Assumption of Our Lady Church in Fairport. Please wear purple or any pastel color. Casual dress is welcome.
