Virginia E. Calarese “Ginny” passed away on December 30th, 2020. She was predeceased by her loving husband Michael J. Calarese “ Mike”. She is survived by her daughters, Angel (Dan) Dawes, Kim (Dave) Doyle, and Carolyn (Steve) Hill; grandchildren, Nick (Katy), Connor, Brandon, Chris, T.J., Paige and Katie; and brother Tony (Linda) Annacchino.
Ginny exhibited the true gift of hospitality. She was able to make everyone feel comfortable in her home and outside of her home she never met a stranger. Her hobbies included baking and providing treats for friends and family. As a younger woman she enjoyed sewing. Ginny was also an avid reader. She was a long time member of Assumption of Our Lady Church and served in a variety of areas through the years. Recently because of Covid and moving to a Senior Living Facility she had to forgo attending Assumption.
Family and Friends meant everything to Ginny. She spent most of her years as a homemaker raising her family but later in life worked for many years as an Executive Secretary for the President of the Raytec Group. During the last few years she began a Bible Study with her daughters that seemed to give a better understanding of what she could look forward to. Although we will miss Ginny we know that she is with the Lord and we look forward to seeing her in Heaven and hugging her free of the restraints from Covid and social distancing.
A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Ginny’s life will be held during the summer months when we are able to meet safety. At this time a private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to The Parkinson’s Foundation:

Such a beautiful OB for Ginny. She was one of my best friends. I saw her daily when she was in Florida as a snowbird. I loved both Ginny and Mike.
Miss Ginny will truly be missed. She was such a joy to be around! Always cheerful and always having fun with her “Buddies– Barb, Sabina and Gert. Our lives will be a little dimmer because of her passing. Goodspeed sweet Ginny..
Ginny is a beautiful human who worked many years for my father (Dave Reh) at the Raytec Group. I remember her warm smile every time I’d see her when stopping in to visit my dad at work. May she rest in peace. Peace and love to her family.
Larry and I are thinking of all of you during this difficult time . We hope that the closeness of your family and friends will help you through this!❤️
LOVED looking at these photos. She had the prettiest smile! Love and prayers to all.
I was a colleague of Mike’s at Xerox in Pittsford in the 70’s and also lived in your neighborhood at the time. He always spoke proudly of his girls – Ginny and daughters. Your photos bid testament to the great couple they were and always smiling. Surely their presence will be sorely missed. May their reunion in Heaven bring you comfort and peace.
So very sorry for your loss Kimmie, Angel & Carolyn. I’m just so thankful we had the chance to visit with your Mom at our Mothers calling hours. She looked so good & exactly how I remembered her. And it was so nice to be able to introduce her to my daughter Sydney. I always looked up to your Mom, as someone I wanted to be like when I grew up….
I’ll always remember her, and I know my Mother thought so much of her friendship also. They are together again now. Take care , thinking of you all.
Ginny was such a beautiful, loving, , caring person. I love her. We have been friends for many years. John and I spent Many fun times with Mike and Ginny. God bless her beautiful family. She was so proud of all of you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
I have been friends with Ginny since 1984 when I applied for a job at Eighty O’Connor Road. We became good buddies ever since. She was a great person who adored her three daughters and her husband Mike. She was so proud of her Grandchildren and what they have accomplished. She was truly a special lady. I will miss her upbeat personality and her beautiful smile.
The FHS Class of ’77 sends its sympathies and prayers to our classmate, Angel, on the passing of her mother. We are so very sorry for the loss of this beautiful lady.
