Helen Clark, of Fairport, NY, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2020. Born Helen Bliss, she is predeceased by her husband Norman P. Clark, her parents and brother. Helen leaves behind her two beloved children Lorie (Walter) Watson, and Dean (Tamie) Swan; four grandchildren, Kristen (Christopher) Cummiskey, Kathryn (John) Marth, Erik (Paige) Watson, and Aaron Swan; four great-grandchildren, Aiden and Ethan Cummiskey, and Kallie and Knox Marth; two sisters, nieces and nephew, and many dear friends.

Helen was born in Rochester, NY in 1944 to George and Helen (Years) Bliss. She graduated from East High School in 1962. She spent many years caring for her children Lorie and Dean. Later in life she enjoyed a career as a school bus driver for Fairport Central School District. In 1994, she was awarded Driver of the Year, an honor which she cherished.

As a Grandmother, she was very involved in her grandchildren Kristen, Katie, and EriK’s lives attending numerous band/ chorus concerts and sporting events. She was later blessed with a fourth grandchild, Aaron whom she loved sharing photos of.

Helen loved few things more than her dogs Sam and Brandy, working in her garden, bowling, traveling, and shopping. She was an avid sports fan, watching countless golf, baseball, and football games.

She decided to move to Rhode Island, for a few years to be closer with her great-grandchildren Aiden, Ethan, Kallie, and Knox.  There Helen loved her lobster, Friday night Fish and Chips with a glass of Merlot, and weekends at “Boat Beach.”

Special thanks to the staff at Elderwood Village at Fairport, Strong Memorial Hospital and Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, for all the care and support.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date when everyone is able to gather safely.

Helen and I became “BEST FRIENDS” in Kindergarten at #52 school. That friendship never ended or changed in 71 years. We were always in contact laughing and sharing. Helen was an incredible fighter right to the very end… that was because she was a #52 school girl, we always said that to each other when we needed encouragement! I will miss her every day of my life.

Lorie I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom. It was a blessing to have Helen drive Sara and Megan to school everyday I never had a worry when she was behind the wheel. Hugs to you and your family.
