Calvaruso, Annette C.

Annette C. Calvaruso passed away on August 22nd, 2020 after a long journey with dementia. She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend. 

She was predeceased in infancy by her father, Frank S. Costich. In adulthood, she was predeceased by her parents, Santa Bondi and Walter Costich, as well as her husband, Francis E. Calvaruso, Esq. 

Annette is survived by her children, Marie and son-in-law Simon Pontin Jr., Anne, and Thomas, her sister and brother-in-law, Grace Costich and Noel Schlageter.  Additionally, she is survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Annette was an English teacher for the Rochester City School District for many years.  Her students and work colleagues held a special place in her heart.

The last five years of Annette’s life were spent at St. John’s Home on 2 Hastings.  Her family would like to recognize and thank the entire staff of 2 Hastings for their unwavering dedication, care and empathy provided to Annette. 

Due to COVID-19, internment will be private.

    Thoughts and prayers for Nettie and Franks family from a member of her Nazareth class. So beautiful and so sweet! She was a special person Though I didn’t stay in touch with her I can only imagine how difficult the last few years have been I’m sure you all have many memories of her love that will override the recent ones. May she be at peace now.
