Sacco, Mary
Fairport: August 24, 2020. Predeceased by her husband Frank E. Sacco, Jr., father and mother, John and Marie Heeks, brothers John and Robert Heeks, sisters-in-law Shirley and Elaine, brother-in-law John Quinn. Survived by her loving children, John, Andrew (Beth), Matthew (Matthew), Sybil (Kevin) Owens, Marie (Tim) Calla, Frank (Casey); grandchildren, Christopher, Michael (Leslie), Toni (Benjamin), Emma, Grayson, David, Grace, Louis and Abigail; great-grandchildren, Logan, Mason, Caroline and Catherine. Brothers, sisters-in-law, George (Sue) Heeks, David (Brenda) Heeks; Elizabeth Quinn; daughter-in-law, Lynn Sacco.
Mary enjoyed her long career as a nurse. She graduated from the Genesee School of Nursing. Her career spanned from the surgical theatre to her true calling as a geriatric nurse at St. Ann’s, Penfield Place and St. Joseph’s Motherhouse. She worked for many years with her husband Frank giving back to the community as a volunteer at the St. Andrews Food Cupboard and CAPs (Camper Assistance Program) with NY State. And, before her ailing health, participated in weekly Bible Study and Mass on Sunday as part of commitment to Christ at the Church of the Assumption.
Mary always enjoyed sharing a laugh
with neighbors, friends, and family. The
outdoors was Mary’s favorite place to be.
As an avid swimmer, fisherwoman, and camper she truly loved the open
water and bright sunshine. She will be
truly missed for her contagious sense of humor and love.

Thursday 6-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Friday 11:15 AM at the Church of the Assumption.
Interment, Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. Please consider donations in lieu of

A devoted mother, wife, and true career woman, Mary inspired us all. Her smiling eyes and quick wit spread joy to everyone who knew her. A life well lived, Mary will be deeply missed. Cherish the memories?

I remember Mary from Bible Study at Assumption. Mary was a quiet, graceful woman who gave valuable input to the group. I am grateful to have shared in Mary’s wisdom in our study. For Mary’s family – may fond memories comfort you; may prayer sustain you now and in the days to come.
