Bettie Jean Ecker, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Saturday, March 16th. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John, and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering love.

A devoted mother, Bettie poured her heart and soul into nurturing her four children—Vikki Heckman (Brent), Kurt(Evelyn), Jill Posick (Kerry), and Brad (Jane). She provided unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement, instilling in them the values of compassion, resilience, and integrity that would guide them throughout their lives.

Bettie’s greatest joy was her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren—Shane (Julie), Shalon (Greg), Kerensa, Chad, Amanda (Justin),Monica (John), Thomas, Daniel, and Jacob—and great-grandchildren—Hanna, Johanna, Kendall, Molly, John, Zoey, and Jack. 

A celebration of Bettie’s life will be held at a future date to honor her memory and the profound impact she had on those around her. 

Bettie Jean Ecker (Mema) will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved John (Bepa), knowing she left behind a legacy of love that will endure for generations to come.

    I knew Bettie Jean as “BJ” here at solstice in Fairport. She was friendly and always wore a bow in her hair. She will be missed by all of us here as she was a pleasure to be around.My sincere condolences to her family.
