Lin, Taylor, Elena (and Buttons too) – We are sending along our deepest sympathy at this most difficult time. We will always remember with fondness all the happy times we enjoyed together. Dick was a loving husband and a terrific father. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He always had such a twinkle in his eye and made everyone who knew him feel so comfortable. He was kind, gentle, compassionate and the most non-judgmental person in the world. Dick also knew sports better than anyone ever could. The past 18 months were beyond what anyone should have to endure. All of you were a tremendous inspiration to all us, and we admire so much how you demonstrated your love as a family in caring for Dick. As a family you have made monumental personal choices and sacrifices in affording Dick a quality of life that belied his illness. He was blessed to be always surrounded by family and friends. As you travel forward now in life I know you will always feel his love. He had an unwavering commitment to his family and such pride in all of your accomplishments. We are sure that at this moment he has joined a golf league in heaven, and has talked god into being his partner! May Dick always enjoy the peace he so richly deserves.
With love and affection Kevin and Mary

So sorry to hear of Dick’s passing. I saw him over the summer and knew he was fighting cancer – such an awful disease. We remember him fondly from his soccer coaching days with Taylor and Rob. He was always a friendly face whether we saw him at the grocery store, Mendon Carnival or The Cottage Hotel. Please accept our sincere condolences. We are traveling and not able to attend the services but our thoughts are with all of you at this difficult time.

    Ode to Dick Jackson

The old neighbor produced a great guy
Today it’s sad for us to say good-by
The early days offered glory days of fame
    He really had game.

    Dick loved life
Then got lucky to have Lynn become his wife
Lin and Dick raised two wonderful kids
Elena and Taylor made their family grid

    Golf was a passion
But a cold beer offered satisfaction
We always had a competitive match
Never did we play to scratch

We will all miss our friend
But this is not the end
    Dick lives on in memory
    Those are wonderful memories
